Benny Parsons' 22-year-old young gun brother outgunned series regular Marvin Smith and future champion Lee Raymond to score the victory. Raymond's runner-up finish was his first top-5 in the series. As the name implies this race was run as part of a doubleheader alongside a second 100-lap race for the NASCAR Modifieds. Geoff Bodine won that one as he bested Satch Worley and Jerry Cook take the checkered flag. 3. Phil's #27 received an almost identical paint scheme as a result. 4. rm posted: 06.07.2020 - 10:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Pole speed - 113.113 mph There was 1 caution for 9 laps Additional DNQ/WD: Moose Myers The former champ's career in the series didn't end terribly gracefully, he failed to make the start here and did not finish the last two series races he'd start at Flat Rock later in the summer. As far as the other DNQ/DNS drivers: it looks like only Richardson took time in qualifying, couldn't find evidence of Medlock, Wallace or Myers laying down laps. I'd lean towards saying Richardson was a DNS and Wallace & Myers were DNQs/WDs but that's just my two cents unless someone can dig up a results sheet. 5.
