Marvin Smith relieved Ferrel Harris but crashed later in the race. Phil
Barkdoll and Smith crashed on the first lap on the backstretch. Jim
Hurlbert had the back end of his car destroyed in another backstretch
crash on the 24th lap.

Very fitting for Wayne, then, to be listed as the last car running with
less than half of the race completed. He may have competed earlier than
this (or owned a car) but I'd defer to an official results sheet over
his word - his stories can be, uh, hard to follow sometimes.

Owner should be Phil Finney. I think they made an attempt in another
superspeedway race in '83.
