Roper's winnings: $5,800

Attendance: 10,000

Roper won despite having no brakes for 170 laps! He truly was the best
ARCA driver on dirt in the 80s. He didn't finish outside of the top 5 at
both Springfield and DuQuoin from 1982 until 1988, including a victory
at the Indiana State Fair for good measure.
