He won a career-high five races in 1988 but this was the only one of them that was on paved superspeedway. This would be the first of five wins for him at Pocono. Alaskan racer Jed Doggett makes his lone ARCA start. Doggett had DNQed at Talladega earlier in the season before he got to make his debut here. 3. zuel660 posted: 10.01.2020 - 2:33 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) I was at this race, and IIRC, George Wiltshire was running a notchback '81-'87 style Olds Cutlass here, which really stood out on the track since basically the rest of the field had the newer, more aero model cars. 4. rm posted: 02.09.2021 - 11:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jerry Churchill is listed as being in an Olds; additionally, the sponsors for he and his second car of Joe Boyle appear to be flipped - Churchill had Autolite while Boyle had Fram. (An educated guess might suggest that Churchill had problems before the race and swapped cars with Boyle, who then ran a start-and-park, but I have no evidence of that and it's only speculation on my part) 02 owner - Jack Wallace 6 owner - Betty Taylor 02 sponsor - DuraGloss/Dini Engines/Superior Auto Lap leaders: Keselowski 1-7, Leslie 8, Churchill 9-11, Horton 12-14, Keselowski 15-22, Raymond 23, Keselowski 24-36, Raymond 37-39, Keselowski 40 Laps led: Keselowski 29, Horton 3 That gives 8 lead changes instead of 9, but nonetheless it still appears that this was a highly competitive race at the front, concluding in a last-lap pass by Keselowski on Lee Raymond in a photo finish of less than a carlength. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
