Isaacs/#92 Paxton Racing Chevrolet (Charlie Paxton)/ignition/34th 36. Sands/#30 Henryville Video Store Buick/ignition/31st The lone ARCA start for Roland Isaacs, apparently running what looks to be a S&P deal for a team that last had a recorded (emphasis on that part) start five years previous. Several other teams - generally quite good teams, too - used that #92 in the meantime. Marmor's spectacular tumble led to a lengthy red flag to repair the guardrail, with the time of race eventually exceeding the primitive race clock that Salem had at that point. Therefore, no time of race or average speed was recorded apparently. The 1989 running of the event clocked in at just under 4 hours, but had two fewer yellows and 17 fewer caution laps, which actually placed it on the quicker extreme as far as highest average speeds for Salem events go. Going to assume there was a very late caution that allowed Pflum (and Strait) to get so close to Brevak at the end. Strait already had a couple ARCA wins on short tracks to his credit and would pick up many more - plus a couple speedway wins for good measure - while Pflum never came anywhere nearly as close to victory lane as he did on this brutal afternoon. 14. rm posted: 08.24.2020 - 6:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Cellini's number was #68, didn't realize I skipped him 15.
