Raymond's car blew a tire, struck the outside wall, and careened down the track into Marmor's path. Marmor's car hit the tires and water barrels at the entrance to the pits and literally barrel rolled over through the air. 2. ESPN's Dr. Jerry Punch put his skills to work to assist the rescue. Marmor was stable when he was airlifted from the track. He never raced in ARCA or any higher level series again but he made a full recovery (albeit it with a limp). The crash destroyed Raymond's potent Chevrolet Beretta stock car, the collision with Marmor literally ripped the front off the experimental Chevy. That was sadly the end of the Beretta stock car program. The car raced in ARCA in preparation that Cup teams may have needed the body style as a stopgap between the departing Monte Carlo and the new Luminas that weren't available to the public yet and didn't look like they would be eligible. NASCAR instead choose to let its team switch directly from the Monte Carlo to the Lumina so the Beretta never raced in Winston Cup competition. 3. 23andJoe posted: 05.02.2014 - 6:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Pole speed: 173.799mph Gibbs' winnings: $12,290 Ellis' winnings; $8,475 Leslie's winnings: $4,950 Keselowski's winnings: $3,800 Jones' winnings: $3,000 Weltmeyer's winnings: $3,000 Horton's winnings: $2,600 Ingram's winnings: $2,500 Sospenzo's winnings: $2,300 McDuffie's winnings: $2,300 Cooper's winnings: $2,100 Adams' winnings: $2,000 Segars' winnings: $1,950 Dotter's winnings: $2,100 Gerhart's winnings: $1,850 Weinbroer's winnings: $1,800 Porter's winnings: $1,700 Sears' winnings: $1,650 Sonntag's winnings: $1,600 Adcox's winnings: $1,700 Churchill's winnings: $1,650 Bailey's winnings: $1,400 Venturini's winnings: $1,600 Sanders' winnings: $1,300 Boys' winnings: $1,250 Hess' winnings: $1,200 Smith's winnings: $1,150 Taylor's winnings: $1,100 Moyer's winnings: $1,050 Allison's winnings: $1,000 P.Simko's winnings: $900 D.Simko's winnings: $900 McFadden's winnings: $775 Raymond's winnings: $950 Marmor's winnings: $925 Young's winnings: $700 Thomas' winnings: $675 Brevak's winnings: $800 Stahl's winnings: $600 French's winnings: $600 Bryant's winnings: $600 4. 23andJoe posted: 05.03.2014 - 3:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) B.Schacht's winnings: $800 5. 23andJoe posted: 05.04.2014 - 5:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bill Ingram was in the #68 Ronnie Adams was in the #38 Tim Porter was in the #91 Glenn Sears was in the #22 Randy Smith was in the #06 Billy Moyer was in the #52 John McFadden was in the #64 Mark Stahl was in the #82 Doug French was in the #09 #06 sponsor: Nealco #11 sponsor: Churchill Transport/Autolite #22 sponsor: A&E Electronics #25 sponsor: Amoco Ultimate/Rain-X #29 sponsor: TRW/Arnold Jerome Enterprises #34 sponsor: Race Glaze #36 sponsor: Almeda Auto Parts #50 sponsor: Lombard Auto Wrecking #51 sponsor: Mound Steel/Tom Co. #52 sponsor: Bill Day Tire #55 sponsor: Mobil 1 #72 sponsor: South Limousine Sales #76 sponsor: Car-Mate Trailers #85 sponsor: J. He politely declined because the segment was going to focus mainly on his efforts at the track and he didn't consider that to be the whole rescue. He humbly felt that the hospital Marmor was sent to afterward contributed more to the saving of Marmor's life than he did. 10. When they did a segment on the rescue of paramedic Mike Staley after he was hit by a car during the 1990 ARCA 200 at Daytona the episode focused on rescue efforts both at the track and at the hospital. 11. Despite giving up about 100 horsepower to the V8 entrants Ellis was fast and he contended for the win although Mickey Gibbs bested him in the end. 16. acerogers58 posted: 03.01.2020 - 1:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Thomas's Sponsor was Jimmy's Speed shop 17. acerogers58 posted: 03.01.2020 - 2:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Billy Thomas was in #23, there's a picture on facebook of his wrecked car from this race. https://www.facebook.com/284442948363275/photos/a.337818483025721/628573400616893/ 18. rm posted: 08.06.2020 - 8:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 38 sponsor - W.E. He had no memory of the accident. His wife tapped the race but he understandably didn't want to watch it so he never even saw what the crash looking like until a clip of it was played during the broadcast of a NASCAR Cup race at Richmond the following spring while the couple was watching it on TV. 21. He put his Bill Elliott-owned Melling #92 Ford Thunderbird and brought it home with a top-5 which no doubt had to be a popular run for all the Elliott fans at Atlanta this weekend. Awesome Bill would win his lone Winston Cup title the next day. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
