Sadly, Gehrke passed away from his injuries a few days later. 2. Jeff Wagoner posted: 02.20.2013 - 4:05 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Race was rain delayed for four hours. I think they ran the IROC race before the rains came. Race got off to a competitive start, with Jimmy Horton making it four wide for the lead at the end of the first lap. Walter Surma and Glenn Brewer tangled in turn 4 bringing out the second caution, which grouped the field up. A few laps after going green, Donnie Moran turned Chris Gehrke in the tri-oval. Gehrke's car blew over backwards, flipped several times before coming to a halt just past the start/finish line. Several cars avoided Gehrke but the car in front of Carl Miskotten moved at the last second and Carl had nowhere to go. Both drivers were seriously injured, Gehrke passed away several days later. 3. 83andJoe posted: 02.21.2013 - 5:43 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Start of race delayed by 4:20 due to weather. #10 sponsor: Budweiser (no other significant logos) #11 sponsor: SealTech/Jasper Engines #95 sponsor: Texaco #11 owner: Clint Folsom #68 owner: Mark Smith #80 owner: George Smith #95 owner: Sadler Brothers #10 status: Accident Caution: Laps: 47-49: #00, #43 stopped on track Laps: 54-61: #68 accident turn 1 Laps: 68-76: #19, #3, #6, #67, #29, #70 accident trioval 4. RIP Chris Gehrke. 5. VoteGillilandNotDanica2014 posted: 08.05.2013 - 12:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #70 owner: J.D. McDuffie 6. One of his last Talladega starts in a Stock Car was the result of missing the big race and choosing to run ARCA. 13.
