Though collaborating with the Rensi team at the time as they transitioned from having father Bill Venturini as the primary driver to having son Billy Venturini take over the seat, this one came out of Bill's shop. Newman was pulling double-duty with the Silver Crown race also on the same day, a race in which he finished 9th.
