He won five ARCA races in a row near the end of the 1997 season, missed seven races healing up, and won his return. 8. The Man of Steele had the dominant car of the day but it wasn't all clear sailing, at one point he got into Mark Voigt and it sent Voigt's #30 Chevrolet backward into the outside wall as a result. Mike Ciochetti, also in a T-Bird, claimed his only ARCA pole in this one. He was a contender early as he muscled his way past both Mark Gibson and later Frank Kimmel with bump and run moves on his way to the lead. Later he got into Blaise Alexander, doing a one-off in Mike Brandt's #66 Ford in place of the injured Mark Thompson (making this Alexander's only ARCA outing in a FoMoCo product), and set him for a loop. Alexander bounced back for a top-10 but Ciochetti went out with a mechanical gremlin not long afterward. 9.
