Chad. This was the first night race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, it was a support event for the IRL's first Atlanta race the next night. 2. I don't believe that it was known that he had passed away from his injuries until after the race though.) Steele was forced to withdraw from the next two races he planned to enter at Salem & Texas.
