Mark Gibson and Frank Kimmell both flipped in this race. Gibson's wreck
was especially bad as he had just built a Winston Cup Legal Ford Taurus
only to have it destroyed in a wreck that sent him out of the park.
Frank was lucky as he had a fairly soft roll, although he did destroy a
bunch of foam barriers that were placed around the track.

Rare to see a car go out of the track in a stock car race but Gibson
indeed ended up going into the Turn 3 wall and turning over before the
black-and-white #59 came to rest upside outside the track. Gibson walked
away but he was ticked afterward and wanted to have a talk with Cavin
Councilor, who was also involved and who he blamed for the wreck.
Gibson, Councilor, and Doug Keller were all taken out in the melee.

sole pit road reporter.

retire late in the race with transmission failure.
