Three different driver's had to be airlifted from the track because of
injuries suffered in this race.

Other point of interest- Someone (possibly the 73 of Ed Curtis) caught
major air in a spin off of turn 4.

Curtis crashed on the backstretch. You may be referring to the
Newman/Thompson crash. Still don't think it was major air,but noticeable
at the very least.

Keith sweeps the ARCA plate races for 2000, he also won earlier in the
year at Daytona. He only ran the superspeedway races during the season.

Ed Curtis retired from Superspeedway competition after his hard crash
here. He switched back to just racing short tracks in Ohio afterward.

Cavin Councilor was momentarily knocked unconscious during the Big One
in this race, as shown by his in-car camera. He took a heavy hit from
Randall Ritter right in the driver's door.

First caution - laps 6-9 - 28 accident backstretch
Second caution - laps 15-17 - debris trioval (allegedly thrown from the
grandstands at the 8 car of Shawna Robinson)
Third caution - laps 20-23 - 62 stalled pit entrance
Fourth caution - laps 30-36 - debris
Fifth caution - laps 41-46 - 38 stalled on track
Sixth caution - laps 59-67 - 5, 6, 7, 19, 31, 42, 59, 66, 67 accident turn 4
Seventh caution - laps 82-87 - debris
Eighth caution - laps 97-101 - 21, 27 accident turn 4 (separate
accidents, actually)
Ninth caution - laps 109-113 - 73 accident backstretch

That adds up to 49 laps, which is accurate per the TNT broadcast, not
sure where they got 56 from

Dr. Jerry Punch and Benny Parsons were the commentators. Bill Weber and
Ray Dunlap were the pit road reporters.
