Finger and Alexander spun while battling for the lead. Burroughs (who was trying to get his lap back) and Amick got collected. Finger got going again and wound up as the only car on the lead lap, winning his first and only ARCA start in an ex-Jeff Burton Exide Ford. 2. If I remeber right, Finger's car was sort of unusual. It was an old Jeff Burton Ford with his black Exide Taurus paint job but it had the 2000 Ford Taurus decals on it. 3. He got the lead when Alexander spun, then he proceeded to spin once, go through the gravel in turn one and drive away from the pits without the right rear wheel on the car. Aside from a Burton car, Finger had a Mark Martin overall with the Valvoline colors on it. 8. Jeff posted: 03.30.2015 - 12:15 am Rate this comment: (4) (0) Just caught this one on YouTube. I've always been curious as to how this one played out. Blaise Alexander's first spin appeared to be courtesy of Lyndon Amick; Amick's grille was mashed in a bit after that. Amick controlled the race pace after that, with Alexander having to work his way back through the field from about 11th or 12th after the spin. By halfway, the field had mostly pitted, with Damon Lusk taking the lead over Amick (lost that tire in the pits), Alexander, John Finger and Jason Jarrett (in a red and white Pontiac). Frank Kimmel was sixth, already one lap down at that point. Jarrett went to the garage with engine problems, leaving four cars on the lead lap. Damon Lusk pitted for tires and his demise was never really addressed, with the broadcast showing Blaise Alexander in the lead (but somehow looking really slow). Skip forward a few laps, and John Finger (who was way back at the time) is beating down Blaise's rear bumper for the race lead, pulling away from the #91. A caution flew for debris on the track, and the field was bunched up for the final restart. On that last restart, Blaise got past Finger for the race lead, but coming into turn 10, he slowed up significantly and Finger (with the lapped Burroughs) passed for the lead. Burroughs dove into turn 11 and hit Finger, spinning him; Amick had nowhere to go and drove into Burroughs, with Alexander getting collected as well. Amick's car was stopped against the inside guardrail while Alexander (smashed up, smoking but running) and Finger got straightened out again. Blaise's car spun again in turn one as Finger continued, following Burroughs and Frank Kimmel. At the chicane, Burroughs lost control, slowing up Kimmel and allowing Finger to get past all of them. Finger would take the caution and the white flag that time around. Alexander lost an oil line (and admitted he'd had transmission issues earlier), and was able to make it to the garage area but didn't complete the last lap. As Blaise put it, Burroughs' driving at the end wrecked a lot of race cars that had been generally unscathed all day. Though, if he'd successfully disabled Finger, he could have come around, unlapped himself, and won the damn race - if Kimmel didn't catch him first. 9.
