Dynes would race again though back in Europe. 9. Yeah, it's a shame that it took Petty, Irwin, Roper, Earnhardt, and Alexander to make this rule happen. But for the 5 drivers we lost, we have saved countless others in the last 15 years. RIP to them all. 14. 88&4Fan posted: 02.03.2016 - 8:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I thought it wasn't mandatory until the middle of the 2002 season? 15. nascarman posted: 02.03.2016 - 8:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The 2001 Fall Talladega race was the first race head restraint was mandatory for. You had to wear either the HANS or Hutchens Device. 16. They immediately went to red flag so they could try to restart the race with Frank Kimmel as the leader, but it quickly became apparent that the race was not going to be restarted after the horrific accident. 43 sponsor - Victory Junction Gang/1-88-Vehicar The 51 of Kevin Belmont was also a DNS according to the Speedvision broadcast. 19. It was fatal for both Blaise, and Tony Roper at Texas a year earlier. 26. We're lucky that the safety technology has come along this far. 27. rm posted: 07.10.2020 - 11:56 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) James Hylton's first start at Charlotte - albeit a very, very brief one - since the 1981 Coca-Cola 600. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
