Kimmel's brother and crew chief gave a scathing interview after the race criticizing ARCA's then new Green-White-Checker rule and the poor job they did cleaning up the track after the final caution. Michael Vergers ran well in this race, but Bob Schacts ultra-aggressive setup eventually lead to to much strain on the right front tire leading to it blowing out. He lost a few laps getting it repaired and things only ended up worse as he was caught up in an accident with Tom Erikson. Erikson, a very accomplished local PA driver, ran excellently in this race as well and was given a lot of TV time as he battled drivers in the back half of the top 10. Jimmy Spencer was the pit reporter in this race and he was absolutely terrible, on his first report of the day he could not seem to name any drivers other than Kimmel, stumbling over half finished words until he said "Alright guys cut me a break here" and finally managed to list a few veterans in the field. His reports from the pits were brutal especially in contrast to the eloquent Dick Bergren. 6.
