Billy Venturni spun out of the lead on turn 4 of the last lap. He was
that close to getting his first ARCA victory in this event. He would
eventually get it.

Future Cup racer David Ragan makes his high level racing debut, Ken's
boy finished 12th

Great race at my hometown track. Frank Kimmel made an incredible run
back through the field after being involved in a couple crashes and
passed Billy Venturini in turn 3 on the last lap to win, with Venturini
spinning across the finish line while trying to pass him back in turn 4.

Future Cup driver David Ragan qualified 2nd in his first ever ARCA start
and ran up front all night before fading in the final few laps.

As memory serves Eileen Smith spun out about 4 different times before
finally being flagged off the track by the ARCA officials after
completing only 52 laps (most of them under caution).

Owner Update
#14 Billy Gerhart (Same for all of Leonard starts in 2003)


The team has plenty to be excited about. Leonard, who drove for
respected car owner Bobby Gerhart in 2003 will also unveil a new sponsor
for his seventh race of the season.

Billy Venturini officially crossed the line backwards on the last lap.
Billy V spun all on his own from the lead, later stating he thought his
brakes locked up. A gutsy performance considering Venturini spent Friday
night in the hospital with the flu before running this race on Saturday.

There was nearly a month between the last ARCA race at Michigan and this
event. South Boston was a washout in the interim.
