This was the only race all season that Belmont led. 6. rm posted: 02.29.2020 - 1:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 75 owner - Andy Belmont (same for the second race of the doubleheader) The advantage Mears had in his de facto Cup car was absurd. He was three and a half miles per hour faster in qualifying than outside polesitter Frank Kimmel, who in turn was two and a half miles per hour quicker than 3rd-place Jason Jarrett. Mears was a full 20 mph faster than 20th place. Since this race was rained out in June after qualifying was finished, they opted to keep the starting lineup when they returned and added a couple more starters at the end of the field. This led to quite a few changes. DCs: James Hylton - 48 - Hylton Motorsports - James Hylton - Ford Mike Haggenbottom - 75 - Southern Pan Services - Andy Belmont - Ford 7. And neither Benny or Wayne took the DuPont decals off the car for whatever reason. 10. He may well have been using a chassis built in 1999, but there's nothing about the chassis that makes it specific to any body style or year - you could just as well put a 2002 Ford or Dodge body on it (not that the ARCA guys did that much, most of them kept whatever body came on the car when they bought it). 13. The chassis itself was built in 1999, but it was constantly updated to fit the new rules packages. Another example would be the car that Kaz Grala drove in the 2018 July Daytona race. The chassis itself was built in the mid-2000s by Evernham Motorsports and primarily served as a showcar, but was updated to fit the 2018 rules package. 14. He also attempted the second half of this Pocono doubleheader but failed to qualify for it. This was his only start of 2003. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
