This was his best career finish, and lone top-5, in ARCA. 2. rm posted: 05.30.2017 - 8:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 2 DNS cars: 39. 39 - Phil Bozell - The Dyckman Restaurant (Russ Roulo) - Pontiac 40. 50 - Justin Hobgood - Germain Motor Company (Don Arnold) - Dodge 3. rm posted: 11.17.2017 - 4:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 39 owner - Russ Roulo DNQ: 41. #41 - Josh Clemons - Larry Clemons - Ford Driver change: 8 - Greg Seevers 4. rm posted: 11.12.2018 - 11:31 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Correct race date: Saturday, July 10th, 2004 Hemphill, Ragan, Marlin and Brannen never came down pit road in the race. That proved to be the right call when rain arrived and left all of them with top-5 finishes. Brent Sherman was running 2nd when the caution for rain flew but rain out of gas the lap before the red flag was displayed, leaving him disappointed in 12th. Matt Hagans caught some serious air in his first-lap crash. This is the only footage of the race I've found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoTC3b396dw To the rear - 1 - engine change 5. rm posted: 10.11.2019 - 7:02 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Was not expecting to see this race pop up in my Youtube subscription list today, awesome. Race name - 700 WLWT 150 First caution - laps 2-10 - 9, 13 accident turn 3 Second caution - laps 13-22 - 06, 4 accident turn 2 Third caution - laps 31-34 - 56 spun frontstretch Fourth caution - laps 66-67 - rain To the rear - 1, 39 - engine change; 8 - driver change 5 crew chief - Billy Gerhart 9 crew chief - Patrick Donahue 64 crew chief - Greg Tester 0 owner - Wayne Peterson 08 sponsor - Draco/Defiant Clothing DC: Greg Seevers - 8 - Benning Motorsports - Norm Benning - Chevrolet Justin Hobgood was forced to pack up early when he backed his car into the wall in the last practice session. If his Germain/Arnold team had a backup they would have made the show thanks to qualifying being rained out, but alas he was saddled with a DNS instead. Hobgood gave an interview and expressed his disappointment in making such a careless mistake in practice. Ryan Hemphill's car was the same one that Sterling Marlin had driven at Fontana just two months earlier in the Cup race, qualifying 8th and finishing 27th. Hemphill started 4th but was in the lead by turn 4 in the fast ex-Ganassi car. In one of the more unusual interviews I've ever seen, Johnny Leonard's crew chief was interviewed after Leonard spun harmlessly through the grass to miss Matt Hagans' destroyed car on the first-lap crash. Leonard, a stock car novice who was never really a frontrunner, suffered no damage and his bewildered crew chief insisted to the SPEED pit reporter that the car was fine, while probably also wondering why he was suddenly on TV. Something I can't quite verify here: Benny Chastain's 24 car looked like it was an old Rainbow Warrior, decals and all. Unfortunately for Benny, he and the 24 car could not quite channel the speed of Jeff Gordon. 6. Foyt14 posted: 11.02.2019 - 10:22 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) There are two people starting fourth. Ryan Hemphill started fourth and Billy Venturini started fifth. Phil Bozell started 32nd not 39th. 7. As noted earlier the race ended in a wild ride that saw the Indiana airport owner lose it on the opening lap and blast the outside wall hard enough the red #9 briefly took flight and almost rolled over. 9. Was he injured, or did he not have another car? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
