As Eric said, this is the only (at least post-1996) ARCA race to be held at Lanier, a track that formerly hosted the NASCAR Busch Grand National series. 4. Robert Yates had taken an interest in Ragan earlier in the season, providing engines for Wayne Day's team, but that had been the extent of the scouting.
