While testing his late model at Toledo the following year, Steele crashed big all on his own and couldn't bring himself to hop back in the car. A few weeks later he retired, turning over the late model keys to a young Johnny VanDoorn - a worthy successor, I'd say. 8. I think I remember reading that she spun out 3 or 4 times in this one, though at least a couple of them came courtesy of lead-lap cars that got impatient while stuck behind her.
