Former ARCA RotY Bill Eversole picks up a top-20 in his final start. 3. 23andJoe posted: 05.05.2014 - 1:46 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Order of DNQs: 42. #13 Leonard 43. #99 Sheltra 44. #42 McGilton 45. #05 Henderson 46. #1 Belmont 47. #36 Kaltreider 48. #93 B.Chastain 49. #72 L.Hollenbeck 50. #85 Barnhart 51. #0 W.Peterson 52. #94 Du.Basham 53. #06 Mitchell 4. nascarman posted: 08.04.2017 - 9:55 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) One of the craziest finishes I've ever seen. With 2 laps to go, Burney Lamar had a 1 second lead but blew a tire and hit the wall in turn 2, not bringing out the caution. TJ Bell and Frank Kimmel inherited the lead and were side by side most of the last two laps. Bell took the lead in turn 1 on the last lap but overdrove turn 2, letting Kimmel get inside him as they raced down the backstretch. In turn 3, Frank got loose on the bottom and both cars slid up the track into the wall. Kimmel spun but Bell kept going, meanwhile Brent Sherman slipped underneath both of them to take the lead. As ARCA does a GWC even if the caution comes out on the last lap, they had to do a one lap shootout. Sherman pulled away from Bell who held onto 2nd until turn 3 when his tire blew and he hit the wall, falling back to 17th. 5. Wallace blew a tire and made a bonehead move - making a hard left turn to get to pit road and nearly collecting a couple more cars. This drew the ire of the broadcasters, particularly Rick Allen) Fifth caution - laps 100-104 - 20, 46 accident turn 4 11 sponsor - Ashley Homes/Fast Track Justin Allgaier was clearly driving an ex-RCR Kevin Harvick car that still had the black and silver Goodwrench paint job on the car. The set of pitstops under the 3rd caution was disastrous for some teams. At least 3 tires from different pitboxes made their way onto pit road, with several more carriers barely catching tires in time before they rolled away. Additionally, a few frontrunners incurred blend line violations, including the dominant Steven Wallace. Frank Kimmel's late gear issues that forced him out of the race meant that he and Bobby Gerhart were tied atop the points standings with just 8 races left in the season. Neither won a race the rest of the year, but Kimmel put up 6 top 5s while Gerhart never finished better than 7th to clinch yet another ARCA title. As nascarman alluded to in comment #4, this was a wild finish. You've got to watch it for yourself. 7. RaceFanX posted: 08.12.2020 - 1:59 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sponsor: #20 T.J. Bell- Dodge Bell's near miss with victory lane here turned out to be his final ARCA start. This was his only outing in the Eddie Sharp Racing #20, replacing Ken Weaver, and it turned out to be the #20 Dodge's last outing of the season as the team focused on #2 and #22 entries for the rest of the year and 2007. Burney Lamar also never ran in ARCA again after almost winning this race. He was a full-time NASCAR Busch Series racer for Kevin Harvick's team at the time but would lose that ride later in the season. 8.
