Michael McDowell went to victory lane to "congratulate" his teammate and said in a post race interview he would turn his season around...or turn Butler around. Kenny Schrader wound up second and while happy with his day, he said that he felt awful for how McDowell lost the race and said it was a cheap way for Butler to win. Schrader had tried to get to Butler's bumper in the 1-lap shootout but ultimately failed. The joke was on Butler, though, as McDowell picked up 4 wins later in 2007 to go along with a runner-up in the championship standings while Butler recorded just one more top 5 in the rest of his limited schedule. McDowell famously wound up in Cup competition just a year later in 2008 and has been racing in the top level of NASCAR ever since while Butler floundered in 25 Nationwide starts - failing to ever record a lead lap finish and becoming regarded as one of the worst drivers to ever hold down a seat in that series during that era. 7.
