Darrell Basham said in his interview that he hit debris and blew a tire to touch off the wreck, but it sure looks like something more catastrophic than that had to have happened. Josh Wise was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.) Third caution - laps 33-35 - 32 spun backstretch Fourth caution - laps 47-51 - 00, 32 accident turn 4 Fifth caution - laps 54-56 - 32 spun turn 4 Sixth caution - laps 72-78 - 12 accident turn 4 Seventh caution - laps 80-83 - 4, 75 accident trioval Eighth caution - laps 100-102 - 47 spun pit entrance Ninth caution - laps 103-109 - 07, 11, 75, 87, 99 accident turn 3 (surprised this didn't collect more cars, and also surprised that all of the drivers involved finished the race) Tenth caution - laps 123-127 - 39 accident turn 2 39 status - crash (never got his car refired and retired from the race) To the rear - 98 - unapproved adjustments; 16 - engine change; 5 - backup car; 26 - driver choice; 23, 62 - unknown??? 7 owner - Frank Kapfhammer (DNQ) 48 owner - Roger Carter 56 owner - Kenneth Appling (car owned by Tony Clements, Jeremy's father, but Tony always ran cars under Appling's name in both ARCA and the Busch series. At least that's my understanding of the situation.) 62 owner - Andy Hillenburg (A surprise reunion for the pair after Bourque ran a woeful Busch East season for the team the year prior in which his best finish came in a race he crashed out of) 94 owner - Brian Kaltreider (DNQ) 4 sponsor - Dodge 12 sponsor - Fixatire 16 sponsor - USAF/Schluckebier Farms/AG Tech 26 sponsor - Brad Smith Motorsports 31 sponsor - Pike/Lyf-Tym Building Products 32 sponsor - Batman/Youngfield Homes 38 sponsor - Just1Shirt/Super Source 39 sponsor - BeavEx/Rod Baker 46 sponsor - Pork/Greenheck 84 sponsor - Shodeen/Boonie's 31 crew chief - Ed Berrier 46 crew chief - Bill Kimmel Jr. 56 crew chief - Barry Dodson 98 crew chief - Randy Seals Billy Tanner got a terrible jump on the opening start - probably shouldn't even call it a jump! - and the field stacked up behind him in turn 1. The accordion effect caused Robb Brent and Dominick Casola to checkup behind Tanner, but behind Casola Michelle Theriault and Billy Venturini couldn't quite do so in time and Theriault turned Casola around. Being at the back of the field and in the grass, no caution waved while Casola quickly righted himself. Hard to believe but true: Bryan Silas got the lead by staying out, was passed by Justin South for a lap, and then Silas made a pass back by South to take the lead under green flag conditions. Wouldn't believe that Silas could make a green flag pass for the lead if I didn't see it myself. Justin Allgaier changed engines before the race, but the second engine continued to cause problems and he was black flagged at one point due to the smoke the motor was causing, ultimately finishing many laps down. Similarly, Brian Keselowski had to go to a backup car after a hard practice crash and never turned a qualifying lap while they were preparing the car. The backup car's transmission broke as Brian shifted into fourth gear on the opening lap of the race, ending his day before it could even get going. The 32 was decaled up as a Dodge Avenger, though I don't think there was ever an official gen-4 steel bodied Avenger rolled out at the Cup level and certainly not at the ARCA level. 9. rm posted: 02.15.2020 - 10:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Something else I'm not sure how I missed when I watched this race the first time: the lap 26 crash involved a Pontiac having a mechanical blowout and turning a Toyota into the wall very hard. Has to be a very rare incident of a Pontiac and Toyota crashing together! 10.
