Ciochetti's career had been derailed somewhat by a shoulder injury he suffered at Talladega in 1999 with this race serving as a one-race comeback for him. Same another wreck made sure he didn't have a very good finish. Belgian racer Max Dumarey's ARCA debut sees him net a top-10 finish. This was his only start of 2007 and it remains his lone top-10 to date. 16. Yes there were some crashes, but there was no "big one" in this race, proving that ARCA is not always a wreck it up series. 20. rm posted: 05.01.2017 - 6:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) First caution - laps 30-35 - 4 debris backstretch Second caution - laps 44-46 - 23 spun turn 2 Third caution - laps 54-60 - 29, 84 accident backstretch Fourth caution - laps 73-82 - 07, 2, 18, 22, 32 accident turn 4 (Billy Tanner had some scathing comments to say about Michael McDowell's involvement in this incident, stating on SPEED that he didn't believe that McDowell had cut a tire. Tanner was driving for a smaller team and it's probably no coincidence that the combination of a torn up racecar here along with the inflammatory statements he made on live TV led to this being Tanner's final ARCA start, at least to date.) RaceFanX posted: 07.23.2017 - 1:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Marc Mitchell's entry here was indeed the last for Pontiac in a major superspeedway stock car race. This was the last race where the brand was eligible for competition since ARCA had a rule that cars of manufacturers that had exited the sport were still eligible for up to four year after their departure. Pontiac's NASCAR and ARCA tenure ended after 2003 so this is where their eligibility ran out. This was Mitchell's final ARCA start, the Pontiac Grand Prix he drove here was the same car he had finished runner-up at Daytona with earlier in the season when he recorded his best finish in the series. 23. While his racing career was over his involvement with the sport wasn't as he became a well-known Cup series spotter working with Cup drivers like Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth and Truck series champion Matt Crafton in the years that followed. 24. RaceFanX posted: 06.07.2019 - 9:15 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Billy Tanner more or less torpedoed his career in this one when after getting taken out in the big one that occurred after Michael McDowell blew a tire. He was interviewed live on SPEED and publicly doubted that McDowell just blew a tire, believing his team just told him that to avoid him going to confront McDowell, and expressed his frustration that guys like him were trying to have a good run and earn some sponsorship while dealing with "rich kids that just get the stuff handed to them." Owner Corrie Stott came out after the race to publicly apologize to the team's "sponsors, friends, fans and affiliates," McDowell, and McDowell's team Eddie Sharp Racing for Tanner's comments, noting he spoke with Tanner at length about them. 25. The reason for the new look was sponsor related as A. Casola Farms, a New Jersey nurses, offers a "Fall Fest" setup every September and October so families can bring their children to by a pumpkin for Halloween, take a hayride, check out a petting zoo, or go through a corn maze. The festivities in 2007 also included a motorsports exhibit. This was Casola's second and final ARCA top-5 finish. Sponsor: #1 Dominick Casola- A. Casola Farms "Happy Halloween" 28. The audio is even on for the duration of it, which means Rick Allen, Phil Parsons and Jim Tretow probably could have qualified for credited roles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
