When the race finally got going,it didn't take long for the action to start,as Chase Mattioli and Tom Hessert III triggered a track-blocker of a pileup in Turn 2 that involved at least 12 cars. The end of the race was a good battle between Ken Schrader and Justin Allgaier, with Allgaier prevailing. I will mention that the rain delay wasn't all bad,got to take a short tour of the Win-Tron team hauler and talk to a couple drivers as well. 2. This was an instance where almost the entire field was running all together in a pack when disaster struck. For a brief moment, Salem looked like a very, very short version of Talladega. 8. rm posted: 10.21.2019 - 7:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 7 owner - Dale Francis 8 owner - Kory Rabenold Norm Benning's last short track top 10 in ARCA competition...for now anyway. 13 of Benning's 32 ARCA top 10 finishes have come in races he finished at least one lap down at the end, with the most egregious example coming in 2001 at the Nashville Superspeedway when Benning finished 9 laps down and behind a car that wound up DNFing. 9. rm posted: 04.29.2020 - 8:51 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Justin Allgaier had one of the best cars all day, but he needed to mount a comeback to win this race. The car shut off on Allgaier under caution while he was getting ready to restart with the leaders. Allgaier eventually got it fired back up after it sat stalled on the track, the field slowly streaming past him. When asked in victory lane what happened, Allgaier said the wiring guy must have messed something up - and that he was the wiring guy in question. Ah, the joys & perils of running a family-owned team! 10. SweetRich21/43 posted: 07.29.2020 - 11:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The commentators were Brian Drebber and Mike Miller. Notably he finished one spot in front of Frank Kimmel, the man he replaced in the #46 Ford. Frank Kimmel's first race in his own equipment at Daytona saw him run a Dodge before switching to Ford in this race and coming home fourth. Kimmel would not only run Fords throughout the rest of the season after this, the coming came onboard to sponsor him not long afterward. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
