He had to pit under but the Red Bull team fixed the problem and he was able to return the race then take advantage of the "Lucky Dog" (something new to ARCA for 2008) to get back on the lead lap and come back to win. Speed bookend this victory by leading only the first 14 laps and the last 7. 3. She faded back but still finished a career-high 9th. 7. rm posted: 10.21.2019 - 7:52 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) 7 owner - Frank Kapfhammer 48 owner - Greg Sarff To answer my own question, the highest finish for a female driver in the series is 2nd - three times by Erin Crocker Evernham and once by Shawna Robinson. This would be Gaby DiCarlo's best finish in ARCA. She had three top ten finishes, interestingly all coming after starting 23rd. Strange but true. 8. rm posted: 03.15.2020 - 1:01 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) This race started a string of results for Frank Kimmel that showed that he was mortal after all. Kimmel had five straight races where he finished outside the single-digits as he adjusted to life as an owner-driver. That included a 20th here, two laps down. His average start was his worst since 1992 and his eight consecutive championship streak ended in 2008. 9. rm posted: 04.29.2020 - 2:07 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) I hate to post four straight comments on one race's page but I rewatched this one today and found a quote too funny not to share SPEED cameras picked up a shot of crew members trying to fix their car on pit road after a crash, using a baseball bat to try to pull out a damaged fender. Cue Rick Allen: "I told you this was a stick-and-ball sport. Everybody has balls, and sometimes they use a stick!" 10. "I hate to post four straight comments on one race's page..." I wouldn't worry about it, it happens all the time and it's fine. Sometimes it's good to space things out. Besides these comments were made over the course of three years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
