Steve posted: 03.16.2009 - 2:50 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Cool for Justin, but it was due to unsportsman-like driving on behalf of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. He tried twice to wreck Scott Speed and finally did it on the backstretch. Yeah, Ricky was quicker, but you can't earn respect by wrecking the guy with whom you're racing for the championship. Imagine if Bill Elliott and Alan Kulwicki wrecked each other in the 1992 Hooters 500; what kind of battle does that give us? Thanks, webmaster, for now including ARCA results! How far back do you plan to go? 3. If that's the case, and you still wish to see some ARCA stuff prior to '99,check out my site listed in the URL. I've been working on ARCA stuff for the past 2 and a half years, and I've also gotten into ASA and a few other things. Hopefully the webmaster(s) here and myself will be able to do some research on ARCA together and share information. 4. If fans only knew the lack of character that this young man has shown, they would never stand in line to get his autograph. He's a chump and does not deserve his ride at Roush Fenway. If he wins the Nationwide title in 2011, I will be appalled. 6. martin-n-rusty posted: 06.16.2011 - 5:56 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It's one thing to bump a guy in a corner to get him out of your way, it's one thing to wreck someone, and make it look accidental, but when you ride someone down an entire backstraight just so they have no choice but wrecking, that should of been an instant parking of Stenhouse that day. I don't condone what Scott Speed did afterwords, but Stenhouse did have it coming, and deserved it. 7. John posted: 10.07.2011 - 7:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) But Speed was right! There was no way Stenhouse should have won the championship that way. It is only an ARCA championship, but a lot of guys spent a lot of time and money to win it. And Scott Speed made sure the right guy won. 8. Evan posted: 01.21.2012 - 8:59 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This race was marred by the digusting act of the championship contenders taking each other out. The moral Beat each other on the track racing not by both championship contenders being crashed out, that's no fun. Scott Speed had a heck of an ARCA season and this was going to be the battle of the ages until Stenhouse took Speed out. 9. It's one thing if you go into a corner and accidentally pop the rear end of the competitor in front of you. It's another to more or less wreck someone down the straightaway. Stenhouse was able to get his car repaired and finish the race, which while losing the championship, should have not been allowed to happen. 19. He partnered with Greg Sarff in 2008 as a driver-slash-coach for Sarff's rebranded Capital City Motorsports effort, but it appears he split before actually making a start for the team. I believe the Sappanos in Bozell's line of sponsors was his late model team owner? Jake Francis posted the team's only top 20 finish. Bozell kept it mostly clean here and beat Sarff's car with driver Luke Hall, who was involved in a pair of accidents and retired before halfway. Brandon Thomson makes his lone start for the Dodge development team of Cunningham Motorsports; he qualified well but finished several laps down, behind even Brad Smith. It was also Matt Kurzejewski's debut for BKR and his only race in the series until 2013. Kurzejewski would win the superspeedway championship in 2015 but disappeared after a disappointing full season campaign for Ken Schrader Racing and Menards in 2016. 21. rm posted: 11.26.2019 - 8:45 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) ARCA's most iconic championship-deciding race in recent memory, the series' version of the 1992 Hooters 500...except here it would be like if Kulwicki and Elliott had taken each other out on lap 20 and allowed Gant or Martin to win the title. Okay, fine, it's really not like the 1992 Hooters 500 at all. Whatever. 14 owner - Grant Enfinger After running a few start and parks for the Belmont team when Andy couldn't sell the ride, Grant Enfinger got a chance to bring a car that he'd bought from Belmont to the track in the season finale with one full race's worth of sponsorship. Enfinger and a couple of his fellow crew guys from the Belmont team had been working on the car all year in between wrenching on the main ABR cars. Sure enough, Enfinger instantly flashed his potential by qualifying in the top five and running well in the few green flag laps that made up the first quarter of the race. Then something broke after a restart and Enfinger wound up with a disappointing DNF. 22. Schrader frequently ran at Toledo in the 2000s, and Ragan arranged a one-off with the Roulo Bros. to serve as Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s teammate with a noble cause of Shriners on the hood. Ragan looked like he would improve on his 5th-place run from the spring race here by leading a lot of laps late in the race, but a flat tire forced him to make a green flag pit stop from the lead and he wound up several laps down. He finished ahead of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the team car, but that was no consolation to anyone involved. Ragan has not yet returned to the series since, having only made 3 starts since he graduated to the NASCAR ranks after 2005, though rumors have suggested he may show back up now that he's in semi-retirement. Schrader didn't seem to be as quick as he usually was when he makes an appearance in ARCA, eventually crashing out just moments after Ragan ducked to pit road. It wasn't all bad for Schrader, though, as he got to watch longtime family friend and mentee Justin Allgaier win the race and the series title in one fell swoop. Allgaier got the championship in his 86th series start dating back 7 seasons to 2002, and though he has remained a staunch advocate for the series, he hasn't made an ARCA start since. The family team has been a fixture at the dirt miles since, almost always contending for wins with the battery of driver Kelly Kovski and crew chief Grant Enfinger. 24.
