One of them, Steve Arpin, is the only driver with multiple wins this season but inconsistency and missing the last 2 races due to commitments with JRM in the Nationwide series has him 13th in the standings. It's Coulter's first win in 33 starts, his 10th top five but just his 3rd of the season. Patrick Sheltra gets his 2nd runner up finish of the season. His 6th top five ties Craig Goess and Tom Hessert III for the most this year, and his 10 top tens leads all; both are career highs for him. But finishes of 29th and 21st have hurt him in the standings. Steve Arpin gets his first top ten since winning Texas back in April. Tom Hessert III gets his 4th straight top ten, 2nd straight 4th place finish. Frank Kimmel gets his 7th straight top ten finish, 9th in the last 10 races. It's his third 5th place finish of the year. Dakoda Armstrong gets his 4th straight finish of 6th or better. Mikey Kile starts and finishes 7th, his 3rd straight top ten; he's improved his finish each race from 9th to 8th to 7th. Michael Simko (yes, the drop kick guy!) gets his 16th top ten in 48 career ARCA starts. Craig Goess finishes 9th for his 6th straight top ten, 9th in the last 10 races, and takes the point lead by 10 over Frank Kimmel. All these guys are winning for the first time yet it's the master of ARCA who's closing in on the point lead. 6. I left for the track when the funeral was over because I just had to get away from it all. I got there about halfway through the autograph session and had a conversation with Frank Kimmel about how the car looked for the race. Local hero Brian Campbell winner of many ASA/CRA Late Model races here and son of "Fast Freddy" Fred Campbell who won this race a few years back took the pole. Campbell, Sheltra and Kimmel had the dominate cars all night long. Joey Coulter snuck up in the last half of the race and was in the right place at the right time when Campbell made a bonehead move trying to pass Kimmel on the apron in turn 4 which works in Outlaw Super Late Models but not so much in ARCA cars. He lost control and spun taking Frank with him. Frank was able to keep going but Brain was done. A good chunk of the the crowd left afterwards. A pulled a where did he come from?! When Coulter took the lead and dominated the last 53 laps. He had the best car at the end beyond the shadow of a doubt. I go to this race every year and it is by far my favorite race of the year. 7.
