Second year in a row at 'Dega Brandon McReynolds has a good run spoiled by something out of his control. :( Scott Lagasse Jr. earns a top 10 in his return to ARCA, he tried to get greedy by jumping in front of Bobby Gerhart in an effort to go for the lead in the closing laps, but Bobby ducked under him and it cost Lagasse a top 5. Shoutout to Brian Rose, great top 10 for him. Overall, ARCA racing at Talladega is just so much better than Daytona. 4. I would like to see Childress dump the pathetic Tim George Jr. Only reason he was up in front today is that it was a superspeedway race. If it was any other track, he couldn't even sniff the lead. Look at what he did last year in a RCR car, not much. Look at Dillon, who is 18 and only have 5 ARCA starts, 3 wins while George is in I believe his 3rd full year and has 0 wins. 5. I don't think Bobby Gerhart is going to run a full season, he hasn't since 2006. 6. If I am correct, the only tracks he has won at are at Daytona and Talladega. Whn he runs at the other tracks, he can't even sniff out a top 5 it seems. 7. He just finished 2nd in points five years ago, genius. 8. Plus it's my opinion, which I am allowed to post. That was 5 years ago. Gerhart's equipment is garbage against the current top teams. Just wait and see what I mean when he runs at the "normal" tracks. 9. Mike posted: 04.16.2011 - 9:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Probably going to be the cleanest race we see this weekend. 10. Dodge posted: 04.17.2011 - 10:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ok, I was wrong. If I am correct, he has 91 top 5's out of 194 races that are on here, going back to 1996. I have no issue admitting when I am wrong. Still, I don't think he is all that good of a driver. Only wins are at Daytona and Talladega, tracks that made drivers like Bobby Hillin Jr. and others could win at. 13. Talon64 posted: 04.18.2011 - 5:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 23 of Gerhart's 45 career top fives have come at Daytona (9), Pocono (8) and Talladega (6), places where horsepower is key. To put 2006 in perspective, he only had 4 top fives and ended up 215 points behind Kimmel for the championship that year. So even if he runs all the races, which he won't since he hasn't since that 200 season, he's got no shot at the championship. Frank Kimmel gets his 2nd runner-up finish since his last win, a winless streak of 46 races for a guy with 73 career wins since 1996. Brett Hudson ties his best career finish in 4th, just his 3rd top five in 23 ARCA starts since 2005. Chris Buescher and Bobby Gerhart are the only drivers with top 5's in the first 2 races of the season. It's Buescher's 8th in 17 ARCA starts. Will Vaught gets his 1st top 10 in his 3rd career start (2 starts in 2006), driving for James Finch. French-Canadian driver Maryeve Dufault finishes 12th in her 2nd career ARCA start (finished 28th at Daytona). 14. As his car came back down the track near the pit entrance, Bobby Gerhart ducked below him and zoomed down pit road at 180 miles per hour in a controversial move. Gerhart had fallen behind the main pack but was redeemed when his crew chief, Billy Gerhart, successfully lobbied ARCA for a debris caution for all of the shrapnel from Silas' car. 22. rm posted: 10.22.2019 - 8:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 18 owner - Andy Hillenburg 98 owner - Eddie Sharp 23. rm posted: 05.02.2020 - 7:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Joey Licata and Kyle Fowler both entered Talladega coming off of strong runs at Daytona, looking to capitalize on their opportunity as neither driver brought sponsorship to Talladega. Instead, Licata and Fowler were the first two victims of mechanical failure at Talladega. Fowler blew a motor while Licata's plight was never explained further and the vague "handling" DNF status doesn't help any here. 24.
