With 3 different winners in 3 races so far, ARCA could have a similar year to last year when there were 14 different winners in 20 races. 3. Dillon would have won this race too had he not SLAMMED the wall when he lost a tire halfway through. That's right, Ty was 2nd with /major/ front end damage. I've been hesitant for a while to buy into Poole. I'm a huge UARA fan so I've been watching him be the dominant driver there for the last little while, but while I've thought he's got a chance, I didn't see this coming out of him. Definitely going to have to reconsider now just how much of a future I see this kid having. Milka was actually running 6th when two lapped cars tangled in front of her and broke her radiator. 7 start and parks. Out of 29 cars. Sad. 4. jamie88fan@yahoo.com posted: 05.01.2011 - 10:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) The start and parks are a joke I cant belive he would enter extra two cars and have them start and park thats stupid even if arca needed the extra cars you dont need full fields perferct example who dosnt need to be racing in arca is the peterson and hixson teams im surpise they race they are usualy are the 1st ones to park it ... 5. Through the race, the only cars that stayed on the lead lap from start to finish were Williams, Merrell (I think) and Hessert. Everyone else went a lap down and got it back eventually. I know they played up the damage that Dillon sustained, but I wondered how bad it could be if he still managed not to fall off the lead lap after that particular crash (and fought his way to the front anyway). Bryan Silas sort of came out of nowhere to get that top five finish. Pity for Milka Duno, if only because she was running so well considering. All the same, 14 cars finished the race. I suppose only 16 finished the last Salem race, but I can just imagine what it could look like with nine cars limping to the finish in September. 6. Frank Kimmel gets his 2nd straight top 3 finish, his 20th top 5 in 31 starts at Salem since 1996 (6.9 average finish). Bryan Silas gets just his 2nd career top 5 in 94 ARCA starts (28 top 10's), tying his best career finish of 4th. After not racing in ARCA in 2010 (5 top 5's, 8.9 avg fin in 10 starts in 2009), Matt Merrill has 2 top 5's and 3 top 10's in the first 3 races of the season to sit 3rd in points. 17 y/o Josh Williams gets his first career top 10 in his 6th career start (19.3 avg fin). 7. ARCA is merely a nationally touring racing series for hobbyists and kids with huge pockets. Ty Dillon is running with a Cup Series team for crying out loud! The only reason that he isn't 3-for-3 in 2011 is his lack of talent. The rich kids buy rides with Venturini Motorsports, who act like they are actually accomplishing something by out-motoring the competition. It's no wonder that these races are not televised. 11. cArmAkAze posted: 05.07.2011 - 2:18 am Rate this comment: (3) (0) ARCA has been a nationally touring racing series for hobbyists and kids with huge pockets for almost 60 years, where the hell have you been. And a talent pool in ARCA? There has never been a talent pool in ARCA. I challenge you to find more than a handful of drivers that started out in ARCA and went on to accomplish anything. ARCA is a series that has actually stayed true to it's roots from the beginning, that's why their races are such a blast to go to. Going to a relatively local track that doesn't seat 100,000 people, getting to interact with good, down-to-earth drivers, watching some pretty decent racing, and yeah, seeing an occasional ridiculous crash. It's a far more enjoyable time than going to any damn Cup race. 12. Death of ARCA posted: 05.16.2011 - 8:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) @cArmAkAze - I agree with you 100%. I'd accept your challenge, but we both know that it's a rhetorical statement as no logical answer could possibly exist. Do we really want to destroy the universe with that type of paradox? 13. 44 posted: 07.15.2011 - 9:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) Peterson Motorsports; 06- Wayne Peterson: start: 26th finish: 21st (so far best finish of 2011 for the team) 14. 83andJoe posted: 06.14.2013 - 9:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #22 crew chief: Paul Andrews 15. A DNS is treated the same as a DNQ these days, since almost all DNQs lately have come from teams not being allowed to start due to failing to meet minimum speed before the race. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
