I have never like the Dillon's and this gives me more dislike on this clown. I'd like to see him and his brother in some of the equipment that others get that is junk. Then we'd see it's all equipment that makes these 2 good. Kimmel has said, "What goes around, comes around." I only hope that when he does it, that race is on SPEEDtv. 2. 00andJoe posted: 05.15.2011 - 8:41 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Good equipment can't make up for a lack of talent. Exhibit A: John Wes Townley. 3. Dodge posted: 05.15.2011 - 9:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Maybe....But my opinion is that Childress and the other owners didn't really care if Townley succeeded or not and gave him junk. But Childress wouldn't give these goofballs junk since they are his grandchildren. But I don't think Townley is good anyway. 4. TheTruthâ?¢ posted: 05.15.2011 - 11:05 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) The funny thing is that Townley's ARCA stats are pretty solid given the cars he drove. You put him in an RCR car in ARCA, and he easily could've won. He had a couple of top 5s and 10 top 10s in 20-something starts driving for RAB + 1 race for Venturini. ARCA is a very poor indicator of talent when it comes to a big time NASCAR level. 6. CFob posted: 05.15.2011 - 11:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kenzie Ruston gets a top 10 in her ARCA debut. 7. That says that Dillon is getting good stuff and George is not, for the most part. This is George's 2nd year in ARCA with Childress and he can't even sniff out the lead. 8. Dodge posted: 05.15.2011 - 11:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) My mistake, George finished 4th. I missed him when I looked at the results but still stand by my previous comment. 9. irony posted: 05.16.2011 - 12:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kenzie paced opening practice for this race and led 15 laps. It'll be interesting to see how the next "best female driver in racing" does in ARCA. Never thought I'd see Milka Duno finish on the lead lap anywhere but a plate track, but she's doing well so far. 10. They're good kids and although I wasn't there, I genuinely believe Ty didn't mean it. He's 19, doesn't have much heavy stock experience, and just made a mistake. Kimmel and he had been close all race so that seemed doomed to happen from my vantage point. You do have to feel bad for Kimmel though. He hasn't won since 2008 and the 10-12 times he's come close since he's always had something entirely out of his hands happen. Kenzie was leading, but spun on her own. I hope she does well, but I don't think she's the next "best female driver". Johanna Long has that distinction in my book, and I believe Tim Steele's daughter Kelsey is going to start making some noise soon up in Michigan. But I'm not saying Kenzie can't do it - She has much more potential than a good portion of this field. 11. b4il3y posted: 05.16.2011 - 2:04 am Rate this comment: (0) (4) Disagree - Ty's trying to be an intimidator...and he loses. Kimmel will show him how to drive later on. 12. b4il3y posted: 05.16.2011 - 2:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (6) btw..rcr....get out of the arca series. you dont need to be here. you have enough money. any disagree's are elitests and dont need to comment anyway. 13. But if he starts racing like this all the time, then he will have several issues down the road. 14. Only if there is a big melee in the last race on the last lap of the season. will he win a championship. He is consistent but not someone that will be a champion. Although he is doing a great job at Thorsport as is his teammate. 18. Talon64 posted: 05.16.2011 - 6:20 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) "Read that Ty Dillon dumped Kimmel with 10 or so laps to go. It's hard to judge guys in ARCA, except for the exceptional drivers like Stenhouse, Speed, Allgaier (especially Allgaier, won the championship with his family owned team and is looking like a star in Nationwide), Lofton and Kligerman who put up big numbers in full season to win or compete for the championship and did/are doing pretty well after moving up. Although Ty's looking like he could do the same this season. But Austin's got a couple of Truck wins to his credit and one of the best qualifying records in series history in his few starts. That isn't just due to having good equipment IMO. Austin's also had some good runs in his few Nationwide starts. Ty Dillon gets his 4th career ARCA in just 7 series starts (6 top 5's). Ty had previously never qualified worse than 6th for an ARCA race (4 poles) but started 23rd in this race. Grant Enfinger picked up his 8th career podium finish in ARCA, and 4th runner-up finish. He's still looking for his 1st career win and I hope he finally gets it this season. Matt Merrill get his 3rd top 5, 4th top 10 in 4 races this season after not racing in the series in 2010 (8 top 5's in 17 career starts). Tim George Jr. gets just his 4th career top 5 and 8th top 10 in 47 starts in ARCA. It's also his 1st top 10 of the season. After sweeping the two races at Toledo last season, Chris Buescher finishes 5th for 3rd top 5 this season and 9th in 19 career ARCA starts. 18 y/o John Stancill and 19 y/o Kenzie Ruston pick up top 10's in 6th and 10th respectively in their ARCA debuts. Chad McCumbee, who should really be racing somewhere higher up than ARCA, gets his 3rd top 10 of the season. After leading 125 laps in this race, Kimmel has led 157 laps this season which is more than he'd led in each of the last 2 seasons (123 and 96). Milka Duno gets her 2nd lead lap finish this season. She had NO lead lap finishes in 43 career Indycar starts, so apparently she's found her new home in ARCA. lol 19. Haven't since he got into NASCAR a few years ago. I think the whole thing to me is that people BITCHED ABOUT SKINNER WANTING TO RACE THE 3 IN THE TRUCK SERIES. PEOPLE SAID THAT THAT WOULD BE DISRESPECTFUL TO DALE. But to me, not it wouldn't be, in the 2 other series, Dale drove the 3. Dale NEVER ran a race in the truck series, if people want to bitch about a truck series number, why not 16, since Earnhardt owned that truck and number in the 90's. Back to my point, People are so glad to see Austin running the number. After second thought, I am going to hold off till Ty gets in one of the top NASCAR series. I think Ty will be in the NCWTS next year, and I think he will replace Coulter. I'm not saying Coulter sucks, but I think Childress wanted to get that team going for him that way all the kinks are out but wanted Ty to run ARCA full-time this year so basically brought in a temp. 21. irony posted: 05.17.2011 - 2:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Not a big fan of Austin "I went hog hunting and shot a deer instead" Dillon but the 3 is Richard's number so IDC. But it was also Skinner's number. I think the main reason people didn't like Skinner wanting to use it was because it was a Toyota. Plus it never seemed like Dale and Skinner liked each other. 22. The plan's for Austin to go to NNS full time next season, so if anything Ty will just replace his brother. I'd hope Coulter would get at least a couple seasons in Trucks like Austin did. I agree with you about the Skinner and the #3, I wouldn't have had any problem with him driving a #3 RCR Truck again. The thing was, he wanted to run the #3 with a different team for his 2004 return to the Trucks. And in the end the #3 belongs to RCR more than anybody. Actually it literally did belong to RCR (or not BELONG, you can't OWN numbers but NASCAR lets you have the rights to that number) so it was in their right not to let Skinner run it. But I really doubt Dillon will be running a #3 in Nationwide next year, especially since he'll technically be driving for KHI so he could get the #33 number or maybe bring back the #77. 23. I don't think Childress had the right to the #3 in the truck series. He went from 2000 until late 2009 not in the series at all. Why would he lease the right to it if he had no intentions to run in the truck series? I guess this is where we will probably agree to disagree on this subject. But this is as I've said before, the fun thing about this site, we can debate and not like each other's responses but each person has that right as long as we don't overstep the boundaries and start namecalling like a bunch of elementary school children. 24.
