Oh well, at least the finish was entertaining. 3. Dodge posted: 06.17.2011 - 10:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) Safe to say that good thing NASCAR don't use Hoosier tires. It was an utter joke at how the tires failed. Goodyear is a better tire compamy so I believe they will NOT have the same issues. Dillon has to be the luckiest driver. At Chicago he wins when Hackenbracht blows a tire and crashes and today, well, we all know what happened. Maybe my previous bashing on him was unwarranted although since he drives for RCR and is a grandson, I will not like him at all more than likely. 4. Anonymous posted: 06.18.2011 - 7:06 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Am I the only one who remembers Richard Childress announcing that he was going to shut down all non-Cup series teams (including ending the Busch Series program)? Now, he has ARCA, K&N East/West, Truck, and Nationwide vehicles for his precious grandsons who are only as good as their car is (it goes at least for Ty), AND he brings back the #3 for his precious grandkid who will NEVER win a cup race, but Dale Jr. can't touch the car that he has begging to get for 10 years now. 8. DaleSrFanForever posted: 06.18.2011 - 9:54 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) In all fairness, June hasn't asked for the #3 car, and seems uncomfortable when he does drive it. Revisionist history says last year's Daytona NWide race was a huge moment that made all people involved feel a lot better. The truth is June looked like he wanted to be anywhere else when he was in victory lane. As far as Austin in the #3 car, I have mixed emotions. Obviously, RC knows more about that than I do, and it is a personal thing for him. The #3 was his number for quite a few years before Dale took it over and turned it into an iconic image. I wish they didn't use that particular style #3, but that is between them. Looks to me like Ty has a better future than his older brother. 6 wins in 11 starts? Kid can get it done. 9. IglooRacer posted: 06.18.2011 - 10:30 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dalesrfanforever I never really saw Austin race in arca but his stats their are decent. 3 top tens in 4 starts Then Austin got fast tracked to the truck series, to me a whole different animal with a waaaay steeper learning curve. So who gets the #3? Austin or Ty? I think it's up to RC and that is if he wants it raced at the cup level. To me a number is a number, the #3 is just a number of huge significance Jensenators- sounds like someone hasn't been to Michigan speedway in person. . . . 10. If I recall, isn't that when Bruton Smith ground down the pavement. Goodyear did all they could. I can't see why Goodyear can be blamed there. Can't blame the teams as it seems like just about everyone had issues. Normally you might be able to pinpoint camber as the reason but in that case, maybe it was a crappy track surface. Maybe the track at Michigan is real bad, if so, then my comment about Hoosier tires is wrong. I know it has been announced that Michigan International Speedway will be repaved after the August race. 11. 00andJoe posted: 06.18.2011 - 8:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #7 - I'm sure they said Bobby Hillin, Lake Speed and Ron Bouchard would "NEVER win a cup race", too. 12. In his career Dale Sr. drove #8 - 30 - 77- -19 - 96 - 98 - 2 - 15 - 3 - 45 - 7 - 72 - 115 - 68 in all forms of nascar racing. I admit he is best known for the #3, but he is not driving it now. It's time to let it go to a different driver. 19. Ha.....The one that is doing the RCR stuff in Nationwide is KHI. The Shepherd connection was for last year to keep the 21 locked in for when Childress had the sponsorship lined up. Shepherd got to keep the owner points this year as RCR had ended the Nationwide team. 20. Max Gresham got his 2nd top 5 in 7 career ARCA starts, but they're a win and a runner-up. Tim George Jr. backed up his first career win at Pocono, under less than impressive circumstances, with a 3rd place finish; his 4 top 5's this season have all come in the last 5 races. Chad Hackenbracht got his best career finish in 4th, his first top 5 in 17 starts. Chris Buescher has 6 top 5's in 8 races this season, finishing either 2nd (3 times) or 5th (3 times) in all of them. It's his 12th top 5 in 23 career ARCA starts. Bryan Silas got his 2nd top 10 in 6 starts this season, his first in 2 starts for Eddie Sharp Racing. NASCAR Truck Series driver Joey Coulter got his first top 10 in 3 starts this season, all for his family-owned team. Chad McCumbee has top 10's in 6 straight races, and 7 in 8 races this season (tied for 2nd most). Frank Kimmel is the only driver this season with top 10's in the first 8 races of the season, but has gone 5 straight races without a top 5. Hence, Kimmel's 2nd in the standings but already 125 behind Ty Dillon. Josh Richards got his 2nd top 10 in 2 starts this season, prepping for his first career NASCAR Truck Series for KBM at Kentucky in July. 21. 44 posted: 07.15.2011 - 9:40 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) I wish my name was Con Nicolopolous NO JOKE NOT FUNNY QUIT LAUGHING 22.
