Chase Elliott and Andrew Ranger were having a dogfight for the win on the last lap when they got together in turn 5, spinning Elliott and opening the door for Chris Buescher. 4 cars didn't even complete a lap, when's the last time that happened? I wish Speed would figure out a way to give us coverage of the full ARCA schedule, live or not 2. If this keeps up, James Hylton might end up Top 10 in Points in his final season, due to attrition. 3. Speaking of which ARCA signed a deal with NBCSports to tape delay broadcast of some of the smaller races, such as Berlin Springfield, Madison and next weeks race in Winchester. 4. The channel has solid racing coverage and that should carry over, back as Versus they previously did the NASCAR Modifieds for like half a year with a similar tape delay format. Austin Dillon runs an ARCA race for the first time since Iowa back in 2009, coming home sixth. 6. 83andJoe posted: 06.22.2013 - 8:32 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) >One caution, wow. When did it happen? That...is something I'm not sure of. The race report on ARCA's website stated that the caution came out on lap 36, and the race restarted with three laps to go. However (as noted here) the official results say "1 caution for 4 laps", which means one or the other is wrong. I'd assume the race report was correct (sometimes ARCA's result sheets even get the NUMBER of cautions wrong, let alone the caution laps), except it also says Dillon was leading on the restart and was spun by Chase Elliott - and the last lap Dillon led was lap 35. Can somebody clear up exactly what happened? I'm assuming that the race RESTARTED on lap 36... 7. They had to pay some of these people for dragging cars to the track in order for giving some resemblance of an actual starting field of cars. I have been involved with and followed this series for many years and it has not been this bad since the early '80s. Great, ARCA gets a TV package that will show less than half fields that have at most less than 5 cars that can compete for a win. Great seeing the Roulo Brothers in victory lane again. 8. It now says caution with seven laps remaining, restart with three to go. Which means: Cautions: Lap 32-36 10. 83andJoe posted: 06.22.2013 - 8:36 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) (yes, that would be actually with FOUR to go, but given the lap leaders, that seems to be what happened) 11. The caution was for a stalled car I believe, I was sitting in turn 9 at that point. No one except the front runners were really pushing hard, thus the lack of cautions 16. Dave#38 Fan-Go Gilliland! posted: 06.22.2013 - 11:23 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The caution was for the #15 car, he was smoking for a while and finally when the smoke coming out of the car got bad enough ARCA through the caution to check for oil and make sure the track was safe. Given how ARCA races usually go, I was expecting this to be a caution filled wreck fest, similar to the Nationwide races here, but it was a clean but eventful race throughout. Dillon, Blaney, Ranger, and Elliott were on different pit strategies so it would have been interesting to see how that would have played out had the last 6 laps gone green. Mason Mitchell was running inside the top ten when he ran out of fuel and had to coast to pit road, losing 5 laps (he eventually got one of his laps back). A.J. Henriksen was also running in the top ten in 9th when he started having engine trouble, smoke and oil from his car was what brought out the races one caution period. Will Kimmel was also running well inside the top ten when he ran out of fuel, however he was closer to pit road that Mason Mitchell and as a result only lost 1 lap. Austin Dillon was punted out of the lead on the last restart by Chase Elliott, who then had his karma returned when he spun himself unassisted out of the lead on the final lap, causing Ranger to brake slightly and allowing Chris Buescher to come from third and make the pass for the lead. 18. 83andJoe posted: 06.23.2013 - 1:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) First caution cause: oil on track 19. The races are tape delayed a few days, or in the case of Winchester, a month. They also air sort of late. 21. 83andJoe posted: 06.23.2013 - 10:57 am Rate this comment: (4) (0) It's better than the nothing at all we've been getting, though. 22. Heck, the East and West Series haven't had a live race in a long time, and their recordings are held in the middle of the day in Thursday. We need this. 23. IMHO posted: 06.23.2013 - 12:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Under most sanctioning bodys (and this in in ARCAs own rule book) in order to earn a provisional starting position you must have either posted a speed in an official practice session or made a qualifying attempt and if this was NASCAR by doing neither you would have not been shown on the starting grid just to roll to the garage and collect from the race purse. Nothing against Hylton Basham and the others but of course the flimsy rules of ARCA change by the hour in order of supporting the crisis at that time. Just like the last two races at Pocono and MIS, cars well below a safe minimum speed. Activitys at Winchester begin less than 6 days away and the current entry list shows a mere 11 entries. This is going to get even uglier. 24. 83andJoe posted: 06.23.2013 - 2:16 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Well, it can't get worse than Indy Lights. ...right? ...Bueller? 25. He deserves it. Hell of a wheelman." Because Ranger is purely a road course specialist. He runs all the road course events in Nationwide, and has even run a couple of Sprint Cup races as well. At best, he'll have a career similar to Boris Said's. 27. It's like why Frank Kimmel never has made a serious, full-time attempt at jumping up to NASCAR: ARCA is where he enjoys racing. 29. And if it's short, they will just enter the ARCA/CRA super late models. They run the same lap speeds as the national series anyway. ARCA has always been a "take em as the come" series anyway. 31. 83andJoe posted: 06.24.2013 - 10:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #77 crew chief: Paul Andrews 32.
