Ryan Blaney had this race won until his crew made a poor decision not to have him pit, he ran out of fuel with 7 laps remaining while he had almost an entire lap over 2nd place Justin Boston, Blaney then came THIS close to stalling the car on pit road but go it going. Boston was on the same pit strategy and ran out of fuel with a little over a lap left. Josh Williams was also on the same strategy but was able to save enough fuel to finish the race and record a career best 2nd place finish. Josh's family team now has a partnership with Spencer Gallagher's team and the two will operate out of the same shop for the remainder of the season. Will Kimmel made the most of a all-too race opportunity to run the full race, he led 15 laps and brought home a top five finish. Penske support makes a big difference, Ryan Blaney's Cunningham Motorsports entry was the best car on the track, while teammate Tom Hessert III struggled and finished 2 laps down. James Hylton ran the full race for the first time since Pocono, finishing in the top 20 for the 3rd time this season. Mason Mitchell and the Roulo Brothers parted ways before this race, Mason picked up a last minute ride with Kimmel racing and parked 19 laps in. Mason Mingus finished ahead of Frank Kimmel for the first time in weeks, but with Kimmel still holding a 175 point lead and heading into some of his best tracks (Berlin, Springfield, DuQuoin, and Salem), time may be running out for the rookie (or anyone else) to make any sort of challenge for the championship. 2. 83andJoe posted: 07.21.2013 - 9:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Cautions: Lap 5-7, #2 slow on track Lap 14-20, #2 accident turn 3 Lap 24-29, oil on track This is at least the second time that I've seen that not only do ARCA's official results get the number of caution laps wrong (which is more common than not) but they show the wrong NUMBER OF cautions! Oy vey. 3. 83andJoe posted: 07.21.2013 - 9:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #17 crew chief: Harold Holly #22 crew chief: Chad Bryant 4. They had garage stalls marked out for them :/ Lajoie's East Series team operated his car. Roulo offered some help when they needed it, but it was a Lajoie effort. Even the SPEED announcers were questioning the strategy on the air, as Phil Parsons was saying, "I don't think this is gonna work out for that team..." I mean, they were seven laps short! Not just a lap or two. Seven! Definitely felt bad for Ryan Blaney though.... 16. JAMIE88FAN posted: 07.22.2013 - 11:00 am Rate this comment: (1) (4) What a joke the last guy didnt make a lap .... This is why ARCA is joke ... I understand short fields and all but if you cant make a lap you dont need the money for the effert .... 17. His Mopar fittingly had a Richard Petty throwback look. 19. Said he didn't know when/where their next effort would be, due to money, but hopefully a clean race car and a winner's check helps that out. 22.
