This was James Hylton's final start on a road course, and what a way to go out. He finished in the top 20 for the third race in a row and 4th time of the season. Milka Duno blew an engine in practice and had to race a backup car. It was way off the pace (even more than she is usually) and she barely kept minimum speed before the engine finally let go. Chris Buescher and the Roulo brothers did not start and park, Chris was running inside the top 5 when his car started smoking and he took it to the garage. According to the teams facebook page, they broke a drive train. Nelson Canache, Josh Williams, and Matt Tifft were all inside the top ten with 20 to go when each had problems. Canache spun in one of the turns, Williams started running off the pace (the announcers said it sounded like he was down a cylinder), and Tifft also spun out. Austin Self and Brian Wong both had to start in the rear of the field and came back to record top ten finishes. It was Wong's first career ARCA start. Steve Minghenelli records his first career top ten finish in his 3rd career start. He has two previous ARCA starts, both at New Jersey Motorsports park in 2011 and 2012. Will Kimmel records back to back top fives for the first time in his career. He will be running the full race next week in Cunningham Motorsports #22 and will look to extend that to 3 top fives in a row. Tom Hessert III records his best road course finish at his home track. Elliott looked to have the best car, but Ranger was patient and waited until 10 to go to make his move, and drove to a 9 second lead before backing in down with 4 to go and holding on to a 7 second lead. This is Ranger's 3rd career ARCA win, all have come in New Jersey. His next race will be the dirt track in Springfield. All in all a very entertaining race, the announcers hyped up all of the side by side battles throughout the field. This race had something the Brickyard 400 did not have-lead changes that happened on the track, not on pit road. I had Nascar on tv muted and had the ARCA audio playing along with the live leaderboard. In my opinion, there was one good race today, and it wasn't in Indianapolis. 4. Relatively clean run, the only car I could find with significant damage looked like the #15 of Nelson Canache. 5. Buescher had a bad drivetrain vibration that was getting worse, and since they weren't running for points they decided to save the car. He continued driving in road racing series after this though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
