The only notable crash was when Leilani Munter got loose and spun, collecting Bobby Gerhart and Buster Graham. Gerhart's bid for a ninth win at Daytona ended with the crash. Like in recent years he pitted early and took the lead when others stopped. His time out front was brief as Grant Enfinger passed him on the restart and he was shuffled back where he was collected in the Munter crash. Gerhart drove back to the pits than drove off into the grass and stopped needing some help to exit the car. He looked a little hurt, Munter hit him in the driver's door while spinning, but it didn't look serious. Under the caution for the three-car wreck J.J. Pack's #1 burst into flames when a fuel line failed. He came to a stop and bailed out unharmed but his #1 was done for the day. Reigning NASCAR Southern Mod champ Andy Seuss gets a shot at Daytona but isn't able to make the field. 3. Uncle Andy posted: 02.16.2015 - 8:10 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) So they lean the field to 40 and it is an awful decision. If they keep it at a higher number then people gripe about the quality of equipment and cars runnng around off the pace. Actually a 34 car starting field should be a ceiling for super speedway races for ARCA. Once they get past Talladega they will be lucky to be pulling 20 QUALITY cars at any event. 28. The #09 team has been fined $10,000, team owner/driver Brett Hudson has been penalized with the loss of 190 championship points and crew chief John Hayden has been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2015 season. The penalties are a result of violating the Daytona Race Event Technical Bulletin, specifically 'no alteration of ARCA-issued restrictor plate, spacer and/or gasket package'. The #55 team has been fined $6000 and team owner Billy Venturini and driver Cody Coughlin have been penalized with the loss of 100 championship points and crew chief Dave Leiner has been placed on probation through July 1. The penalties are a result of violating the Daytona Race Event Technical Bulletin, specifically 'both the left and right rear coil springs must be active in supporting the rear weight of the car.'
