Impressive debut for USAC Sprint Car driver Kevin Thomas Jr. He was involved in the big one early but came back to give Frank Kimmel a huge bump to the front on the last lap to finish 7th. 2. I wish he could get a shot in the truck series because this kid is talented by the way he consistently outdrives his equipment. 3. His push on the last lap helped Frank Kimmel get a top 5 finish for a team that was just announced about 2 weeks ago. Good runs for Bo LeMastus, Willie Mullins and Sarah Cornett-Ching too. They were in the lead pack for most of the race. 6. Derrick Lancaster got into Cole Powell in the tri-oval, spinning Powell into his teammate Gus Dean and setting off a multi-car melee that eliminated several big names including Bobby Gerhart and Austin Wayne Self. 8. Fittingly the company sponsored the race to boot. 10. Bump-drafted Cole Powell through the tri-oval until Powell finally lost control, then wobbled when Mark Thompson bobbled and pinned Matt K and Dylan Lupton into the wall. 12. The first few cars were all spread out a bit, if Byron ducked out, he wouldn't have had any momentum. Weatherman needed to be right on his bumper, but Byron didn't back up to him soon enough. Frank had a massive head of steam coming because Thomas was shoving him down the entire backstretch. 14. Scott Edwards, Kevin Hinckle, Richard Lowe, and Kevin Rutherford were all promised rides with the team for either Daytona or for other races in 2016. All of these stories can be found on The Pit Lane. Edwards tried to get a last minute ride with Wayne Peterson's #0, but stepped back when he found out that Cory Howard was close on securing sponsorship. Kevin Hinckle was scheduled to run Daytona and 2 other short track events, but was supposedly released on January 17th over a phone call. Hamilton, Jr. promised to return Hinckle's money, but Hinckle reports that his funds still haven't been returned. Richard Lowe secured sponsorship with Makeover Mortgages, but reports that he was allegedly scammed out of his deal. Hamilton, Jr. texted Lowe saying that the team had decided to go in a different direction, and that he would no longer be with the team. Hamilton, Jr. used the Makeover Mortgage sponsorship for himself, and Lowe has promised legal action against the team and sponsors. To make matters even more confusing, Makeover Mortgage released a statement, stating that teams have to "purge the non-performers and bad apples... Mr. Lowe's lack of performance, negative attitude, and questionable business dealings are just a few of the reason for the decision made by Makeover Mortgage to part ways". Kevin Rutherford was scheduled to run the full 2016 schedule with the team, but breached his contract with the team. Hamilton-Hughes is perusing legal action against Rutherford. What a mess. ARCA is never short of entertainment, and this story didn't even include Roger Carter! 18. It might just be a temporary condition. 20. Nascar Lead Lap Points posted: 02.14.2016 - 9:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) One More withdrew #76 Andy Seuss O.B. So they withdrew and Brad will run for Hylton at Nashville in the #48 Brad ran Praytor short track car for a few laps to get points. Even had the Calypso Lemonade logos on the windshield 21.
