Sarah Cornett-Ching had a huge wreck, good thing for SAFER Barriers. Chase Briscoe will still be the champion but did not technically clinch after he and John Wes Townley wrecked. And Kyle Weatherman, battling for third late in the race, wrecked with Shane Lee when the lapped machine of Mark Thompson that they were 3 wide with wiggled and sent Weatherman hard into the outside wall, ending his day. 31 of Richard Hauck, 14 of Michael Whipple, and 69 of Will Kimmel should all be listed as DNS or WD or something like that. Hauck crashed big in practice, that's what all the speedy dry in Turn 2 was from. Whipple crashed in qualifying I believe and Kimmel had a pair of engine failures. #5 owner should probably be Tommy Praytor and #10 owner is Kyle Weatherman. DNF status: #10, #77, #05, #15, #2 all crash. #64, #98, and #22 should all be running, but everyone else from the #10 on down was a DNF. Brandon Jones had engine and electrical issues. He dropped through the pack rapidly before parking it. Myatt Snider had something wrong with the rear end, I think? Can't remember. But he pulled in the garage on the same lap as Ed Pompa and was in there for most of the race. Gus Dean was also in the garage for about 20 laps. Chris Bailey Jr. appeared to be smoking before the race even started but somehow made it to the green flag and ran a few laps even. Matt Tifft's first race back after brain surgery. It was great to see him back on the track! Bret Holmes recovered nicely for a top 10 after spinning on lap 1 and getting some damage and then spinning again to narrowly avoid JWT and Zane Smith's cars in the Chase Briscoe wreck. Codie Rohrbaugh's ARCA debut. Best career finishes for Nick Higdon and David Sear. 4. It IS a Cunningham car. 5. rm posted: 09.24.2016 - 10:17 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ha, looks like you beat me to almost everything while I was typing it up still! 6. JSPorts posted: 09.24.2016 - 11:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) I have to wonder if he could be in consideration to replace Daniel Hemric for BKR in the #19 truck when Hemric moves to RCR in the Xfinity series next year. I would think either he or Austin Theriault would be in line for that ride, but I could be wrong. They could also do a combination of the two and have Brad/Joey/Ryan run races in that truck, but I think that would be a bad move. 9. JSPorts posted: 09.24.2016 - 11:26 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) If I had to bet, I'd say Penske's lineup looks something like this next year: Cup #2 Brad Keselowski #21 Ryan Blaney #22 Joey Logano Xfinity #12 Tyler Reddick #22 Keselowski/Blaney/Logano Truck #2 (part-time) Keselowski/Blaney/Logano/Reddick #19 Austin Cindric #29 Austin Theriault However, a problem with that plan could be that Reddick has not had a good season, so promoting him may seem risky. 10. He will probably still run Xfinity/Trucks for them, as he has this season. 13. FrontRowMotorsportsFan posted: 09.24.2016 - 12:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wonder if we could see Montoya or Hornish back in the 12 Xfinity car for a year or so. I think Reddick needs more time in Trucks. I think we'll end up seeing Cindric in Hemric's ride for sure though. Maybe we could see somebody like Kaz Grala, Grant Enfinger, Justin Haley move over to the 29 because I haven't been overly impressed with Theriault in the limited amount of races he's been in NASCAR. 14. Anonymous posted: 09.24.2016 - 1:03 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Could also see Briscoe make the jump to BKR, if there's sponsorship. He's certainly impressed in ARCA. 15. Anonymous posted: 09.24.2016 - 1:04 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) Why do you want Penske to keep recycling Hornish instead of giving someone young a shot? 16. Tyson posted: 09.24.2016 - 1:04 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Saying the 99 is owned by Penske is like saying the KBM Trucks are owned by Joe Gibbs. They obviously have Penske support, but it is Cunningham owned. 17. Hopefully Zaxby's folds and this goof is out of a job. 18. rm posted: 09.24.2016 - 2:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I would say the 99 should be listed as Cunningham but it's a tricky situation in ARCA. Technically, the 5 should be listed as a Gerhart ride and the 10 as Hillenburg but really all they do is own the number and they have a small role in the prep process. While Penske obviously gave a lot of support for the 99, it was prepared by Cunningham until it got to the track, which is why it is listed as such. 19. Larson42 posted: 09.24.2016 - 4:24 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) I think Briscoe is running well but then again this is a watered down arca field more weeks than not. The Cunningham cars are kind of like JGR in xfinity. They should win a lot. He's got a future but I'm not sure if he's ready for the big time YET Also I totally get the JWT hate and the Wrecks Weekly moniker is usually warranted. However I think Briscoe had more to do with tonight's wreck than the 05. Townley had a hole available and he put the car there without contact. The contact came when the 77 came up the track. Likely the cause was more briscoes spotters fault but still the 05 was hardly being wreckless. At least this time. 20. DRF posted: 09.24.2016 - 9:32 pm Rate this comment: (0) (12) 19- if JWT had any skill he would've realized the 'hole' wasn't wide enough and he would have lifted, and continued his campaign on the 77 into the corner. He's a mid-level XBOX racer with a rich dad. And to have fully-funded equipment with Hendrick engines and zero non-plate ARCA wins shows how pathetic he is. Also notice how he is only fast in trucks in practice/qualifying on the easier cookie cutter tracks when his 05 trucks are by far top 10 equipment every week. I, along with many, wouldn't mind seeing something terrible happen to Townley personally to get him out of racing. 21. that e-guy posted: 09.24.2016 - 9:38 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) @20 You act like he killed your father. 22. MBM and Carl Long Facebook pages make it sound like a MBM car handled by Glad at track. 27. CBASS posted: 10.16.2016 - 9:25 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) You would be correct. Mark & Carl purchased the car and equipment from Danny about a month prior, then paid Danny and his guys to carry it to the track. Should be listed under the MBM banner though, MBM owned everything that weekend except for the race hauler (which was Danny's). As for the Cindric dilemma: I honestly don't know how this is even considered a "Cunningham prepared" car. The car was plucked from the deep Penske storage, is set up next to the Cup cars, is hauled to the track in Penske's #12 hauler, and is fielded at the track by Penske's #12 NXS crew. The only thing Cunningham about this deal is the name on the paper. As for the car, I was told this was the same ARCA car Ryan Newman won his races in all those years ago, so kinda cool story on the car itself. 28.
