Coming off the final corner Austin Theriault and Christian Eckes were side by side while Zane Smith got spun out by Riley Herbst, and got collected by local driver Cole Anderson in the #78 and Shane Lee in the #22. Theriault edged out Eckes at the line. Great race. Also an awesome job by Cole Anderson, a local driver from Northfield, MN, making his first career start in ARCA. Ran up in the Top 5 for most of the race. Very impressed. Lee and Anderson plowed into him in the smokescreen. 6. Nascar Lead Lap Points posted: 06.04.2017 - 10:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Interesting race. Herbst dumped Smith in Turn 4, leading to a huge wreck. Race was a wreckfest, #06 was in the way again this week. He's from my neck of the woods, in Aroostook County Maine. Years ago, when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth, my Middle School principal made a bold claim that a superstar from our area would make it big in the traditional "stick and ball" sports. I made the point that it was more likely a race car driver from the area would and was laughed at. Would be nice to see AT climb the ladder and prove the clowns I went to school with and the administrators wrong. Yeah, I got a mean streak :) 12. First though, yes the Peterson cars have been running the full race this year, that's not a very rare occurrence. As part of the new rule package, you have to run 50% of the laps in each half of the schedule in order to stay on the Golden A list, which they've been attempting to adhere to. They still are in the way every other lap though, that much hasn't changed. The first caution came out when the 28 swerved on the frontstretch. He was all kinds of squirrelly but never spun out. Still, a caution waved since he about came up into the outside wall in front of traffic. James Swanson was the free pass in his first race since 2015, though the broadcast erroneously reported he was a late entry - he'd been planning on running this race for months. He was giving his old steel body Dodge a great run and was working on passing Justin Fontaine and Shane Lee when he lost it in turn 2 to bring out the second caution. The car wouldn't refire and he lost 6 laps before he could return to the race, foiling what could have been a great run for him. Swanson was crew chiefing from the driver's seat! Natalie Decker got dumped by Bret Holmes on a restart and wound up falling back in the pack. She did get a lucky dog but inexplicably restarted ahead of half of the field - including a lead lap car - and got black flagged. Dalton Sargeant was all over the place, bringing out one caution when he tried to make it 4 wide into turn 3 and another when he wrecked trying to make it to lap 200 on the tires he started the race with, much to the chagrin of the scoring tower and officials. The second of those cautions ended the longest green flag run of the day. This set up the last run of 50 laps to the finish, which got crazy. The shootout between the top 4 was set up after Christian Eckes spun Bobby Earnhardt while leading. 10 owner - James Swanson (he was running one of his old Peterson cars in a last hurrah one off for that Dodge) 52 make - Toyota 2 make - Ford (took the Toledo car to Elko and blew up - again - in practice, they used a Praytor speedway car with an Ilmor as a backup) 10 went to the rear since he was late to the qualifying line because they were changing a fuel pump. I guess the listed reason should be late to tech. Regarding post #6: 7th caution also involved the 3 car and the 8th caution was on the backstretch, not the frontstretch. I forgot to take note of the caution laps at the track, MAVTV was incorrect quite a few times. I do know that your numbers are off because that adds up to only 65 laps. Also, the 22 did technically finish the race, he was parked just past the start finish line. Of the three cars involved in the final lap incident - which did finish under green - only the 78 did not pass the finish line. 16. No different than Carl Long taking his old cars in the mid 2000s to different teams. James is an employee of Fast Track now, and was simply using his car for this event. 17. Austin's #52 had already been fielded as both a Ford and a Chevrolet earlier in the season so as he split 2017 between all three brands. 18. oldschoolracing519 posted: 10.03.2017 - 11:01 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) per the broadcast Crew Chief updates #18 Shannon Rursch #77 Chad Bryant #25 David Leiner #52 Donnie Richeson Owner Updates #10 Andy Hilenburg 19.
