In fact, from 2001-2008, every single race featured at least 30 cars in the field. 4. rm posted: 06.24.2017 - 9:14 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Missed laps ~40-120 so I'll have to rely on tv only for that when I get a chance to get back and watch that. I really hope they showed the cause for cautions and the free passes on tv since I was busy when most of the cautions came out. Great race though, just a couple quick things off the top of my head: 10 DNF reason - electrical (or at least that's what it was supposed to be, I didn't catch the report on the radio when he parked it) 10 was the same car that was at Pocono so the sponsors should be the same 3 had a sponsor, it was XTG something, gotta find a picture of it to figure out the last part To the rear - 34 - late to autograph session (he made it to the track about 5 minutes before driver intros after a practice incident left him in the garage for much of the afternoon); 10 - pitting before the green (didn't even stop, this was a S&P since they had to go crew the 9 car); 3 - transmission change (I think? They called out a car had to go to the rear for a transmission change and he was the only option left for this) When the final caution came out, the top 4 cars were in the same order as they were coming to the checkered at Elko (52, 15, 55, 18). Luckily there was no massive wreck this time around. 5. Regardless, congrats to the 52 team on another win in 2017! 8. TeamDCR fan posted: 07.03.2017 - 8:32 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Basham to the rear for missing autographs? Really ARCA? 9. Has this ever even happened in motorsports? 10. rm posted: 07.03.2017 - 9:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yes, not terribly uncommon, moreso in small series. K&N had a race last year, I think, in one of the series where several drivers went to the back for that reason Like I said, 34 barely made it on track in time to start the race, they got there just as there car was going to be announced for driver intros 11. It also featured nearly as many cautions (8) as those last three races (9) as well. Arguably the best Madison race out of all of those, too. Remarkably, the 49 laps led by Austin Theriault was the second-highest total during his championship season. It was the most laps led by any driver in this race, which featured six drivers leading between 16 and 49 laps each. To further add to the well-balanced nature of the show, five of those drivers each led once for more than 20 laps at a time, with Theriault's 35-lap run to the checkers being the most consecutive laps any driver stayed out front on this night. That may have also led to an extremely obscure and needlessly-convoluted series statistical anomaly: the 49 laps led by Theriault marks the smallest total of laps led by the driver who led the most laps in a 200+ lap ARCA race presently tracked on this site. Honorable mention to the 1992 race at Five Flags, though, where in a 300-lap race Dave Weltmeyer led the most laps with 55. Now if only I could get that hour-plus of my life back that I spent trying to hunt for that info here... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
