Not sure the 40 was ever close to ready to race. Pretty sure all of the DNFs were planned start and parks, not 100% on that though 8. Some many are all giddy about her and have her vaulting to NASCAR trucks in top notch equipment. Easy on the eye only gets you so far. You must learn to lead and be in contention to win and she is not achieved that. 10. Clint posted: 04.08.2018 - 11:36 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) #9 danica proves that being easy on the eyes gets you a sponsor willing to pay big money to flaunt that fact (godaddy) which gets you to the cup series. Probably not pc to say but no way if godaddy wasnt having her do commercials in leather and hair blowing in the wind does she make it to cup. 11. rm posted: 04.08.2018 - 1:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 8 is also Matthew Miller owned Re: comment #8 - thought I remembered hearing they weren't going to run the whole race but I can't find anything that backs that up so I must be making stuff up! 12. Uncle Charlie posted: 04.08.2018 - 1:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #10 Good point but with Patrick she had already won in Indy Car and that is what a sponsor wanted. She showed up from Indy Car not only as marketable but also a winner. The marketing gimmicks only last so long at this level that will carry you up to the next level. Decker may also have more car than they are giving her due to the learning curve. She has the potential but will need results. Lot of really good young shoes in ARCA right now and I consider her part of that group but again you have to have results. It will be interesting to see her run Talladega with the experience she gained at Daytona. Could be a break out race for her. Time will tell. 13. Gray Gaulding's Distant Cousin posted: 04.08.2018 - 1:55 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @7 & 8 Sucks Wayne tore up the car, will be interesting to see if they can get it repaired, Also I Think ARCA actually listed Wayne as the 23rd Starter IIRC. So technically he could be listed as a DNS The 40 car did practice but withdrew before qualifying. I think Cooksey's car was his own as well as Caudell's car. I think Hixon is only supplying "owner Points" now. 14. rm posted: 04.08.2018 - 2:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 2 & 3 still have Hixson hauling them to the track, though I believe you're right regarding their origins, and Crystal turning the wrenches so I'd say it's still technically Hixson Motorsports. I think Wayne is easing back and getting ready to get out of ARCA, I don't believe they have any plans to get a composite body car. The 0 should be fixable from what I saw, think they just towed it off to avoid any further damage. Twitter said something broke, maybe Dawson can chime in with more info for us though. Probably better suited as being listed as a DNQ instead of a WD but I couldn't tell you for sure how they are classifying it. 15. Willsome429 posted: 04.08.2018 - 3:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @12: If they aren't giving Decker the full 25 car, that doesn't make sense to me. She ran a partial schedule last year with five or so races before going full-time this year. The competition is very stiff between her teammates, the MDM cars and the MMM cars. 16. Uncle Charlie posted: 04.08.2018 - 5:12 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) More competition in ARCA now than in many years that I can remember. Her owner has a good plan for her and that must include not expecting too much early on. As Will Kimmel once said of a really good car he had early in his career "the car was way faster than I was" Young drivers can test all they want but nothing simulates seat time in actual races. I am thinking she will get better once her and the crew chief get some more starts together. In my opinion Toledo will be a good barometer since she ran their last year. They will figure it out and one way or the other and it will show either good or bad. She said herself at Daytona she just did what the spotter told her. She should be gaining confidence now and we will see if she can push it to the front. She is in good hands with Venturini. She just needs to continue finishing races unscathed as she did last night and better results should follow. Wins are the goal but top 10's and 5's in the crowd she is running with is not bad. 17.
