I'd imagine it was 100, but then extended to 106 for a green-white-checkered finish. Christian Eckes picks up his second career ARCA win after nabbing his first earlier this year at Salem. 3. 34McDowellFan #PrayForWickens posted: 08.19.2018 - 11:14 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) "Race shortened to 100 laps due to green/white/checker" What?? I think it meant to say the scheduled distance was 100 laps and the race was extended to 106 laps 4. jensenators posted: 08.19.2018 - 11:25 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) To add to Number 1's comment, the 73 of Dale Shearer was on the entry list. Also on all of the Arca sites timing and scoring, Joe Cooksey was in the no. 3 Hixon car. However I don't get MavTV, so I was not able to watch the race to confirm this. 5. Yeet #PrayForWickens posted: 08.19.2018 - 11:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @4 yeah, I watched the race on MavTV and Cooksey was in the #3 I also saw the #06 sitting on its hauler in one of the shots while the race was going on, so Wayne Peterson made it to the track, but didn't ever get it on track 6. jensenators posted: 08.20.2018 - 12:06 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yeah, the 06 is listed on the practice results, and the qualifying results, both with 0.000. The 69 was listed at 13th in practice, but then 0.000 for qualifying. The 0 and 73 weren't listed at all except on the entry list. 7. He was involved in 5 of the 6 cautions. No laps, but a brief recap. The first caution was for Purdy grenading an engine and spinning. The second was for Dauzat spinning. The third was for Dauzat spinning out Vigh. The fourth was for Dauzat spinning again. The fifth was for Herbst spinning out by himself and Clubb, Dauzat and Cooksey spinning to avoid off a restart. The sixth and final caution that set up the GWC was for Cooksey dumping Vigh and Dauzat spinning to avoid. Dick Doheny returned to Springfield and succeeded in not tearing down the crossover gate this time. Joe Graf locked up the brakes on pit road under green and knocked down some of the pit barrels. No caution was needed but Graf's roller coaster season continues with another DNF. 12. Also, Natalie Decker earned a top 10 with no practice (due to delayed flights), and only having fourth gear after the shifter broke on the first restart. 14. rm posted: 08.21.2018 - 11:37 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) Decker and Creed were both late getting to the track due to delayed flights. They both missed the pre-practice drivers' meeting. Creed took matters into his own hands and drove 11 hours in a rental car to make it to the track shortly after practice started. Decker wound up getting there just after qualifying started (Logan Seavey shook down her car in practice) but without any of her own gear as it was stuck on her previously scheduled flight. She borrowed a helmet, HANS and driving shoes from Danica Patrick's family in order to race. Decker was one of several drivers who were just trying to survive the dirt. While she never impressed but still recorded a top 10, she fared better than fellow first-timers Bryan Dauzat who spun several times or Zane Smith who cooked the motor. On the other hand, Christian Eckes drove the Kevin Reed machine like a dirt vet and won the race. Kelly Kovski hopped back in an ARCA car for the first time since his accident and took 8th. Last year he crew chiefed Grant Enfinger to the win at Springfield so Enfinger repaid the favor by sitting atop the box for Kovski here. Justin Allgaier, whose father owns the #16 that Enfinger and Kovski have driven, was on hand to wish Kovski well and watch the race. 15. Only adds up to 91 laps total, I will work on trying to find out where the mishap I created was (Likely with Dean or Cooksey's lap leader counts). 17. This series is starting to look like Hooters Pro Cup towards the end.. 18. Sheldon Creed came up just short of the win here, but at least his car wound up in victory lane at Springfield a couple years later. KBR bought the car as part of its acquisition of the #28 team and cut off the Toyota nose in favor of a Chevrolet piece instead. The car didn't hit the track in 2019, but when KBR ceased operations in early 2020 and began to sell off inventory, one of the suitors was Bill Hendren who was interested in a new primary dirt car after driver Ryan Unzicker had used up their old Toyota. In his first outing behind the wheel of the ex-MDM machine, Unzicker put on a clinic and scored his first career series win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
