If you ask me, Wayne Peterson completing a lap was the real story though! Must have missed the pit entrance the first time around. Wayne's made 10 attempts since Kansas in 2016 where he last completed laps, in 7 of those attempts he pulled in before the end of lap 1, in 2 races he was pushed off the grid and never saw the flag, and at Nashville last year he crashed in qualifying. 3. Unfortunately, a pit road penalty dropped him from 3rd to outside the top ten and he could never work his way much higher on a night where track position was at a premium. 5. They were always very nice to me when our paths crossed at Berlin and I have always cheered for them as a result. 9. Surely he didn't finish outside the top 5 in a Gibbs car in this watered down field due to speed. 10. rm posted: 09.03.2019 - 7:43 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) If you didn't pass on a restart, you weren't going to pass at all unless the car in front of you got hung up on a lapped car. Track position was at a premium, the top 4 cars were nose to tail for the last 20 laps and nobody could even come close to making a move. You might have been able to count the total number of passes for position over the last 40 laps on one hand - for the entire field. It's not like Herbst embarrassed himself out there, finishing behind the three VMS cars, the only car that could pass in Corey Heim, and a dirt veteran that led the first few laps in Kovski. Plus he's not really a dirt driver, it was his second-best dirt finish yet. There's plenty of races in which Herbst has underwhelmed in, but I can't really say that this is one of them. He was a late replacement for Ty Gibbs, who was scheduled to run this race until the week of. Wil, if you want to watch this race and offer your own explanation, I'm all ears. 11. I'm not familiar with the driver, but Grant Enfinger was the crew chief for that car, so I'm not surprised it ran well. 12. zuel660 posted: 09.09.2019 - 8:58 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Curious to see what the future of ARCA's dirt trsck races are, with Nascar taking things over.... 13.
