Good to see three of the Bill McAnally cars entered. Jesse Love has looked well in the depleted West field, but will be interesting to see if he can be competitive in a better field. 2. Personally, I don't think NASCAR buying ARCA fully killed the sport, or was a sign of impending doom, it's just the demand for racing in ARCA has gotten more and more expensive over time. NASCAR buying it made it more expensive because of the switch to composite bodies, instead of the Gen-4 designs(Which I personally prefer). 3. Canadianfan posted: 07.14.2020 - 1:23 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) @2 Actually the composite bodies and the Ilmor engine were already in place before NASCAR even purchased ARCA. Composite bodies were introduced in 2015. Teams were given years to get ready for a permanent transition, 5 in fact. 4. S&PCars posted: 07.14.2020 - 2:59 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The #46 has been a Race-By-Race deal for Moffit, if he want's the full season he has to find the sponsors or pay-it for himself, interesting Also Kimmel confirmed to me he'll be there, So 22 cars so far 7. Underdogfan posted: 07.14.2020 - 2:59 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) @2 agreed. Back when Gen-4 was first out in the higher series's of NASCAR arca gained. We saw teams entering 3-5 cars at once. I think they should try and keep that up here but switching bodies definitely hurt and killed teams like Hixson and Peterson Motorsports. Also the departure of teams like MMM and MDM hurt cuz that was like 7 good cars out 8. Pacer posted: 07.14.2020 - 4:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) They need to update this series so they can easily run castoff cars from Cup and Xfinity. Granted, I'm not sure how much more the upkeep expenses are for CoT and later Cup Cars. 9. Then Mayer launched a run at Gibbs in the closing laps and was within striking range but then hit the wall hard with two to go, ending his chance at winning. Nice to see Bret Holmes run well again too, he's got to be close to winning a race at some point this year 22. rw posted: 07.18.2020 - 9:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Gotta admit, I thought Chandler Smith would be the one dominating ARCA so far, but it looks like Ty Gibbs is showing his muscle. 23. Foote posted: 07.18.2020 - 11:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 23 Weird, I didn't see Riley Herbst winning or even leading laps with that team. I think Ty Gibbs could win a race blindfolded and people would still call it unimpressive solely because of his last name. He's really good, sorry if it hurts your feelings. 27. Zach posted: 07.18.2020 - 11:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @26 Well, that's because Riley Herbst sucks. It doesn't make Ty Gibbs the God that people are making him out to be. I guarantee you that 18 car is much better than all of the Venturini cars or any other car in ARCA for that matter. Chandler Smith is a better driver than Gibbs and Sam Mayer is just as good, but they aren't driving Gibbs equipment. That Gibbs ARCA car was mediocre for three years before Ty Gibbs took over because Riley Herbst sucks and all it took was someone competent driving that car to have it start winning. 28. JSPorts posted: 07.18.2020 - 11:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think Riley Herbst is not very good & Ty Gibbs is very good. That accounts for the disparity in their performances in that car. 29. JSPorts posted: 07.18.2020 - 11:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Gibbs isn't even 18 yet, and he already has 8 wins & 1202 laps led in just 25 starts between ARCA, ARCA East & ARCA West. 30. rm posted: 07.19.2020 - 7:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I will keep preaching about Mark McFarland taking over as CC for the team as the kickstarter for the 18 team. Will also still opine that Venturini is still the better team overall, they just seem to be scrambling at the moment. The laps led stat on Ty Gibbs is absurd, especially when you take into consideration the fact that he led a combined 5 laps in his first 4 ARCA & 5 East starts. Just kicking everybody's teeth in. As soon as Ty found his groove he's been an instant favorite. Weak fields or otherwise, it's impressive with what he's doing. 31. JeremyIsley posted: 07.19.2020 - 1:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) MAVTV didn't even bother showing Dick Doheny on the leaderboard (i tuned in at around lap 30, so i assumed he withdrew since they only showed the top 20. 32. rm posted: 07.19.2020 - 4:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) MAVTV didn't have their leaderboard up and running until about that time in the race, that might be why that happened There was one car that actually did withdraw, the #7 of Eric Caudell 33. Anthony posted: 07.20.2020 - 11:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It is something that has confused and baffled me since ARCA came back why these teams I listed have different owners points than they should if you add up their car's points totals on here. The #4 team for example should match the driver points Hailie Deegan has earned. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
