Mile501 posted: 09.16.2020 - 10:44 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The small field size might also have something to do with ARCA racing at Bristol just two days before this race. On another note, if Brad Smith can outlast the two Peterson cars (which shouldn't be too difficult as long as his car holds together), he'll get a career-best 11th place finish. And if he can beat just one more car... 3. PucciMan posted: 09.16.2020 - 11:37 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm glad ARCA is returning to Winchester this year. Dropping it from the schedule a few years ago was a huge mistake. Also it sucks that both dirt races were cancelled this year. Dame you J. B. Pritzker! If you can allow both the Cubs and Sox play in their ballparks this year, you should've allowed ARCA to race at the dirt tracks this year. If Eric Holcomb can allow racing in his state, so can you. 5. Love is the 20 is interesting, wonder if that's a McAnally car or if Toyota worked something out for Love with Chandler Smith not entering this one. 10. Only Gibbs and maybe Holmes should be a threat. Pretty sure the 20 is still Venturini as JBL is the sponsor. 12. Jimmie4life posted: 09.19.2020 - 8:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Imagine how Brad Smith reacts to finally getting a top 10. Yes, he had to get help from small entry lists, but it would break a long streak without any at all. People don't know how hard it is to get a top 10 in equipment that is so far back from what the better teams run. 26. rm posted: 09.19.2020 - 9:56 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) It's also hard for Brad Smith to get a top ten when he has no intention of running the full distance at three quarters of the races on the schedule and won't get his engines serviced at any kind of regular interval... Anyway, there's 14 cars now, Eric Caudell is missing from the list. He too is seeking his first top ten finish, and I think he's the most likely candidate of the group to do so (unless the 10 goes the distance with a backup engine and/or car). 27. Gibbs had the preferred line though and had narrowly cleared Self by the time they came back around to complete the first green flag lap after the restart. Also the point of the breaks is supposed to be that it saves the teams the expense of renting a pit crew to come on out to the race to pit the cars, which adds up quickly when you have the biggest multicar teams dropping five figures on that some weekends. If you're looking for "manufactured excitement" in a race, I suggest you watch something other than ARCA. 63. Ain't that deep. Anyway, back on topic, #64 pretty much nailed it. From the book: "At the initial start of the race, the starter will display the green flag at their discretion. Once the green flag is displayed, all vehicles must maintain their respective track position/lane as designated by series officials until they cross the start/finish line. At the initial start of the Race the number two (2) starting position must not beat the number one (1) starting position to the start/finish line." And: "The leader of the Race will control the restart within the designated location on the race track. Once the green flag is displayed, all vehicles must maintain their respective track position/lane as designated by series officials until they reach the start/finish line." 67.
