I have no idea if that is the same Richard Garvie that is on the entry list. 6. Seems like he promoted motorsports events in his native UK but was run out of the country and set up shop in the US, organizing hot air balloon shows. And pretty much any source I can find paints him as a highly unpopular lying, thieving conman that has a history of taking money and running. Hell even the website with his name as the domain name is run by a group of people dedicated to pointing out his shady dealings and conniving ways. 9. All I can say is I sure hope Andy Hillenburg makes sure the check clears before the race. 10. Dan posted: 09.26.2020 - 7:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Garvie took a trip in the grass and bent the engine mount according to the guy working the 0 car. Surprised he was only just over a second off the pace in practice with very little seat time but apparently got into some oil from the 25 (not verified - he said on Twitter that he made a mistake and didn't mention the oil). I did find some stuff about him running pro trucks and a legend car? All I will say is that I looked into the stuff on that website and he was never convicted of anything (everything ultimately dismissed it would seem). People have disagreements all of the time so I would love to hear his side of things but ultimately it doesn't have anything to do with any of us. The guy has a reputation so while I won't be pulling for him, I certainly don't wish him any ill will. I think he left already otherwise I would try to find him and chat with him. He obviously put together a deal and had a great looking car so good luck to the guy. If he does good, good for him. If not he will go back to being a nobody in the sport. A quick search of his company records shows it made $1.8m last year, so he can't be doing too badly bad financially. 13. Dan posted: 09.26.2020 - 8:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Brett looked like he was the car to beat for most of the night. Garvie was unable to start - his Twitter says he broke the engine mount. I didn't actually see what happened but he ran along the inside wall after exiting 2. He mowed the grass pretty good. One of the officials said the mount was not broken but something had shifted and pressed against the motor. Because of that they were not permitted to start the race. Although not showing on Mav TV, he was scored in last place as Thad was back at Toledo. One final thing. The general opinion in the garage is that nobody makes the entry list unless a team has been paid with cleared funds in full. I refer you to exhibit A: Thad Moffitt. Just because RP is your grandaddy, it does not make a difference. No money? No race. 16. I wish this site would show points below each race like it does for most other series. @21 - The overall points have not yet been updated. (The wins, top 5s, etc. are updated but the point totals are not.) Holmes should have a 2 point lead once they are updated. 25. Gibbs wasn't even born the last time that ARCA ran on this track. 27. rm posted: 09.27.2020 - 8:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) A last-lap dustup between Chandler Smith and Hailie Deegan allowed Thad Moffitt to take advantage of the situation and charge to an unlikely 4th-place finish, the best result of his 28-race ARCA career. There were a couple things that happened in this race that I can't remember ever seeing before. Chandler Smith was given the free pass on the first caution by mistake, so they made him stop on the track and give the lap back while still under the yellow. Eric Caudell had some kind of electrical issue and was pushed behind the wall early on, and the team retired the car from the race according to the radio chatter. That held true for roughly 90 laps, anyway, because Caudell rolled back onto the track after the second break caution and made a few more laps before pulling back in. Hardly the first time a car has ever returned to the race while that many laps down, but that is definitely the first time I've ever seen a car come back on the track after they were officially declared out of the race. 28. Dan posted: 09.28.2020 - 10:10 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) The 20 car was given a free pass at the expense of the 22 car. After the race break, the 20 car stopped at the start finish so the field could pass him. Brad Smith arrived after qualifying but was still passed through tech in time to start the race. The 18 and 21 car both struggled to make it through tech prior to the race and the 21 ultimately had to start at the rear. 29. rm posted: 09.29.2020 - 9:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) To the rear - 7 - late to tech; 21 - unapproved adjustments (changed tires after qualifying) Brad Smith showed up to the track maybe an hour before the race, MAV said he had broken down along the way. 30.
