Fultz would make only one further start in the series. 3. The Great Dave posted: 01.28.2016 - 2:41 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Jimmie Johnson got caught cheating. Seriously! Johnson tested at this track on Thursday in order to prepare for his first trip to I-70. ASA Rules state you can't test at a track less then a week before racing at it and Johnson and his team tested at I-70 the Thursday of race week. The punishment for Jimmie was being forced out of Day 1 qualifying. Jimmie was fastest on day 2 and started 11th. The race was itself marred by a big crash on lap 96 that saw Gus Wasson's car erupt into flames. 4. Lots of drivers were complaining of overheating in the car, as the 95 degree start time temperature took its toll on both drivers and cars. The combination of heat, a slew of rookies, and a very tricky I-70 track led to a few big crashes and only 11 cars finishing the race. You could count on one hand the number of drivers that weren't involved in some kind of dustup during the race, and nearly everyone had some kind of damage on their car. 10.
