A late spin by Ken Alexander set up a three-lap shootout to settle this one. Beebe led the first lap but blew a tire going into Turn 1 on the second lap, sliding up the track and into the wall as Sauter then sped past. The right front tire came off Beebe's car as he drove away but this surprisingly DID NOT bring out a yellow. Sauter nailed the tire on the last lap but still held off Mike Garvey for the win. Beebe still finished eighth despite running on just three wheels. The 1999 ASA season was a little notable for how much longtime series talent was gone from the tour. This was the series' first race in more than a decade without either Bob Senneker or Mike Eddy in the field, Senneker dialed back to running just a few races as he prepared for retirement while Eddy spent much of the season on the sidelines with sponsor issues. Scott Hansen also left the series as he moved up to Ken Schrader's NASCAR Truck series team. Some younger talent also moved off the tour as Adam Petty also moved up to Busch series while Peter Cozzolino changed over to the CRA Super Series. 5.
