Mike Garvey took a popular win for the ASA guys as he bested visiting NASCAR Truck Series racer Scott Hansen, an ASA graduate and the defending race winner, to take the win driving for the Minnesota-based Scott LaFavre. Garvey didn't take the lead until the closing laps but pulled away for the win once he got passed Hansen. NASCAR Winston Cup racer Kenny Wallace was an ASA regular in the late 1980s on his way up the ladder and returned to the series for the first time in eight years for a one-off attempt to bag the victory that eluded him back then. Wallace gave the ASA guys a run for the money, putting his #55 on the pole, but while he led a nice chunk of the race he ultimately had to settle for fourth. This was his final ASA start. 2. With his car barring the same #74 he ran in Busch at the time he brought his entry home with a top-10 finish. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
