RaceFanX posted: 03.23.2016 - 4:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The ASA series returns to Louisville Motor Speedway for the first time since 1994 for a race that coincidentally sees 1994 ASA champion Butch Miller record his victory in the series since his title almost six years earlier. Miller's win was a wild one as he passed Ricky Johnson for the win on the last lap. The last lap was chaotic as Johnson made a "bonsai" move, got in the grass and apparently brake checked the leaders (going by a Motorsport.com report). Miller got by him and it really shuffled up the front of the field. Johnny Sauter and Tristan Dupuis both got busted and disqualified for infractions discovered during the post-race inspection. Gary St. Amant's 18th-place finish was his worst season of his championship season, he won the pole and led the opening laps but the #7 Chevy broke a tire rod and sent him to the sidelines for an extended stay. Mike Eddy, winner of the prior 1994 Louisville ASA race, retired early in this one. 2. This was probably the closest motocross legend Johnson came to winning a big stock car race. 3.
